1 1974 Morgan 4/4 Convertible Four Seater
Registration No: G05393 Chassis No: B3252 Engine No: F 19 A1644 Specifications: Engine, four cylinder overhead valve Ford G.T. 1600cc inline, developing 93 BHP, gearbox is Ford close ration (2000E), four speed to line axle and Salisbury differential 4.1:1. Suspension, Morgan patented front independent, leaf spring rear. Wheels are 72 spoke Dunlop wires fitted with PIRELLI 165 x 15s. The Morgan was the best known of the British three wheelers. WFS Morgan's tricycle was the first of its type going into production in 1910. It was powered by a 1100cc JA.P. V twin motorcycle engine. The vehicle was safer than most three wheelers because its road holding was above average and was popular with sportsmen - with a grand prix model produced in 1914. The last three wheelers were made in 1950. In 1936 the first four wheeled Morgan was introduced using a Coventry-Climax four cylinder engine, still using the Morgan independent front suspension. Over the years several power units were used including Standard Vanguard, TR2-3 and 4's plus various Ford engines. This car was bought new in New Zealand and only had one owner until 1989. In 1987/88 it was fully restored by the well known Auckland Morgan specialist - Derek Atkinson. Full documentation and photographs relating to this work are available. Finished in an attractive blue with red Connolly leather upholstery, this rare convertible four seater is reported to drive extremely well and makes a delightful family fun car. It carries a current warrant of fitness. Its mileage is quoted as 57,000 miles. NZ$30,000-38,000

1914 Buick 'B 25 EX' Standard Four Door Tourer
Registration No: DM1914 Chassis No: 909 Engine No: EX 1015 Specifications: Four cylinder, overhead valve, cast in pairs, bore and stroke 3.75 inches, rating 22.5 HP, three speed gearbox, cone clutch, shaft drive to live axle, brake system contracting and expanding in both rear wheels, wheelbase 8.75 feet, tyres 32 x 3.5 inches. David Buick first produced cars in 1903 in Detroit but in 1904 the Buick Car Co. moved to Flint, Michigan. In 1908 W.C. Durrant formed General Motors and Buick became one of the original members of the group. In 1909 a Buick was victorious in the first ever race held at Indianapolis Speedway. Buicks were ever a quality car and this particular model was priced at US$1,050 new. Note that this car is fitted with acetylene lamps, probably the last model to be so fitted. The same comment applies to the outboard brake and gear lever. A classical trumpet horn with Klaxon 'backup' is fitted. This car is described as being in good condition - the engine and gearbox etc. being excellent. It does not have current warrant of fitness. Mileage recorded as 5,611!! A rare purchasing opportunity - this car has been in the family since 1975.

Since 1945, when the Mercedes Benz factory commenced a rebuilding programme from scratch, the company produced a prolific number of models, a bewildering assortment of cars bearing distinctive model numbers and letters, which have given the company the success it so assuredly deserves. At the Spring Frankfurt show in 1951, two new high quality models were unveiled - the 220 and the 300. The original owner of this car travelled to Germany in 1956 and took delivery there. The present owner has had it since 1975. Total mileage is approximately 90350 miles -believed to be the lowest of any 220 in New Zealand. General condition throughout is described as excellent, fully repainted in monza red in 1990 as well as being fully re-upholstered including head linings. The car comes with its original Becker self-seeking radio, reserve fuel system, original tyre changing equipment together with genuine Mercedes accessories to assist. 1951 Citroen Light Fifteen 'Traction Avant' Four Door Saloon
Registration No: QUINZE (formerly KG759) Chassis No: 137648 Engine No: A 548571 Specification: Four cylinder overhead valve, watercooled engine, bore 78mm, stroke 100mm, capacity 1,911cc, three speed gearbox, single dry plate clutch, unitary construction of body and chassis, all round independent suspension by torsion bars, front wheel drive by spiral bevel. Wheelbase 9ft 61/2 in, tyres 165 x 4. Citroen's revolutionary 'traction avant' front wheel drive models took the world by storm when they appeared in 1934, and remained in production until the mid 1950's. Adopted by the French Surete (police) and immortalised in the Inspector Maigret stories by Georges Simenon, the cars were also assembled at the British Citroen factory at Slough. This example ·was completely rebuilt in 1980/81 by professional engineers, painters and trimmers, working under the guidance of a senior traffic sergeant in the Ministry of Transport. All brightwork was re-chromed at that time, and the car (which has been dry-stored for the past two years) has covered only 9,600 miles since restoration. The car is offered with original paperwork and workshop manuals, a set of four brand new Michelin tyres, a new heavy duty 15 plate Lucas battery and many new spares, including crown wheel and pinion. The car has not been driven above 50mph, and the only additions since the rebuild are new highly polished alloy foot scrapers and a new stainless steel exhaust muffler. The car has been shown twice, resulting in two first prizes, and is described as being in excellent mechanical condition with electrics, paint, bodywork, upholstery and transmission 'as new'. A superb example, currently registered. Many parts go with this most desirable and affordable car. NZ$12,000-17,000
6 1963 Jaguar 3.8 Mark II Sports Saloon
Registration No: NE1558 Chassis No: 209079 Engine No: 7B 55871-8 Specifications: six cylinders in line, water cooled monobloc, twin overhead cams, bore 83mm, stroke 106mm, capacity 3,800cc. Moss five speed manual gearbox, hypoid rear axle. Power steering. Independent front suspension with coil suspension and wishbones, trailing link rear with semi-elliptic springs and radius arms. Wheelbase 8ft llin. Tyres 15in. Right hand drive. The name Jaguar, applied to some special models in the late 1930's did not appear as a make proper until 1945. The early range of cars provided a high standard of elegance and quality at a modest price. In the 1950's a range of luxury touring and sporting cars was introduced, and in the late 1950's the smaller Mark II appeared. This example is the sought after 3.8 litre version with an improved gearbox and is described as being in excellent condition throughout. The engine has recently been overhauled by Dave Silcock of Christchurch, the brakes and suspension have been reconditioned and paint and trim are new. There is a chrome XK-type luggage rack on the boot, an E-type steering wheel, wire wheels and sidewalls. The car was imported from the UK in 1971. The colour is dark green. An excellent example of this model which offers exciting motoring and good investing. NZ$27,000-39,000
7 1962 Porsche 356B T6 Sports Coupe
Registration No: JP356 Chassis No: 119613 Engine No: 60-8133 Specification: rear mounted flat four air cooled engine, bore 82.5mm, stroke 74mm, capacity 1,582cc, four speed gearbox, all-round independent suspension, rear wheel drive. Wheelbase 6ft llin, tyres 5.60 x 15. Ferdinand Porsche's prototypes and a first series of fifty cars were built in Austria from 1948, but in 1950 series production commenced in Stuttgart, where Porsche had had factory facilities since the pre-war period. Those first production cars were the Type 356, which remained in production until 1964 with its rear mounted aircooled engine being gradually uprated from 1,086cc to 1,966cc. It is the model upon which Porsche's reputation was based. This 356B was made in 1962 and has the '1600' engine current at that time. It is particularly interesting in that, for the past twenty-six years it has been in the ownership of a single family. The odometer shows 137,000 miles and the car still has its original tools, tool bag, mats owners manual, lubrication chart and all instruments, including the New Zealand fitted Autocrat push-button AM radio. Condition throughout is described as excellent, with upholstery 'like new' and tyres and paintwork good. Originally registered AA1517, it now carries a most appropriate plate, and was originally owned by the vendor's father Godfrey Paape, Past-President of the Motor Racing Association, and remembered for his racing with a Frazer Nash before the war. He used the car as everyday transport, keeping an informal log on all major running expenses, replacements etc. This car is well-known to Porsche Club members and over the past ten years has had the gearbox rebuilt, a new crown wheel and pinion, new barrels, pistons, valves and bearings etc, and attention to the bodywork includes new sills and jacking points. In 1983, the car was entered in a Concours D'elegance and was awarded second place in the unrestored class. This underlines its most outstanding feature - its originality - but the vendor confirms that the car will happily stand as in-depth inspection as to structural soundness, mechanical condition, originality and appearance. It is, however, now fitted with 5 1/2 in wheels to accommodate modern radial tyres in the interests of safety. NZ$35,000-50,000

The name MG is synonymous with sports cars and in the early 1930's became Britain's premier affordable sporting marque. After 1935, however, no more competition cars were made. In 1962 the MG 'B' was developed from the MG 'A'. This example of Abingdon's popular and long-lived MG 'B' Gt is described as being in good condition throughout, with Bahama Yellow paintwork and companion colour interior trim. This car was first registered in New Zealand and records a mileage of 56,954 miles. It has a current warrant of fitness to 14/03/92. Maintenance receipts for the last few years are available. The first cars were sold for 80 guineas - motoring value for the price of a motorcycle! This car is very rare, possibly one of the few left in the world. Its number is 170 and was one of ten dispatched on March 7th 1937 to Premier Motors, Wellington. A complete restoration has been carried out and this car is described as being 'Al perfect condition'. 1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL
Registration No: 1D1960 Chassis No: 121/040/20/018189 Engine No: 121/921/20/018012 Specifications: Four cylinders in line, water cooled monobloc, overhead camshaft, bore and stroke 85mm x 83.6mm, capacity 1,897cc, four speed manual gearbox, single plate clutch, four wheel mechanical brakes, independent coil spring suspension front and rear. The post-war development of Mercedes-Benz was tempered somewhat by the economic and social climate of the time, and it was some ten years after the end of the war before the company launched anything approaching a luxury or sporting model. The production had been restricted to good quality commuting vehicles, and subsequently various drophead and convertible versions. When sports models did reappear, they were superb. The 300SL became a classic during its own production run, and its companion model, the 190SL provided exceptional style and good performance at a fairly competitive price. The 190SL was Mercedes' first production sports car with the 300SL, post war, and its attractive styling, rather after the much more powerful 300SL, earned ir an enviable position in the world sports car market from the start. This excellent example is a very original car in reportedly first class mechanical order - the only modification is the fitting of Weber carburettors. A factory hardtop is fitted. the colour is red, and in all other respects similar to the example photographed above. This is a car that has been used but well respected. NZ$45,000-60,000

1966 Buick Electra 225 Super Custom Saloon
Registration No: U531 Chassis No: 4843 - 97HAA706S Engine No: 7H117065 Specifications: Right hand drive, 4,633cc V8, overhead valve with 430 V8 Holly carburettor, three stage automatic, independent coil front and rear suspension, Pioneer stereo tape deck with booster. Electric windows and seats. air conditioned. The Buick Motor Car Company of Flint, Michigan, was one of the earliest of acquisitions by Durant for his General Motors Corporation and, despite never being the cheapest product offered by G.M., the Buick earned a reputation for quality and performance which kept it among the best sellers. A pioneer in the use of overhead valves, these were to be a feature of the marque in pre-war days. In the immediate pre-war years, the cars were widely used by royalty, the Queen Mother with King George VI using a McLaughlin Buick on the Canadian Royal Tour in 1939 (the same car being used more recently in 1986 by the Prince and Princess of Wales for the opening of Expo 86) and of course the car found favour with Edward VII and his beloved Wallis Simpson. In the G.M. sales picture, Buicks were in the upper class position which suits the recent history of the car - for the past fifteen years the premier hire car in Auckland. Most overseas rock and movie stars visiting New Zealand are reported to have travelled in this prime example of U.S. motoring. The likes of Rod Stewart, Elton John, Sammy Davis Junior, Bob Hope, Kiss, Bay City Rollers etc. There are photographs available. This car is reputed to be in generally good condition with some body and engine spares available. NZ$15,000-22,000
12 1913 De Dion Bouton Sports Tourer
Registration No: OT1913 Chassis No: Not quoted Engine No: Not quoted Specifications: Four cylinder in line watercooled monobloc, side valve, bore and stroke believed to be 70mm x 120mm with a maker's rating of 12 HP - again the capacity is believed to be 1,847cc. three speed and reverse gearbox, single plate clutch, shaft drive to live axle. Semi-elliptic leaf front springs and three quarter elliptic rear. Tyres 30 inches with side mounted spare. De Dion, Bouton and Trepardoux began their enterprise by constructing light steam carriages but were soon to turn their attention to the internal combustion engine. Their approach was somewhat different from Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz. They concentrated on achieving lightness in manufacture, combined with efficient ignition, combustion and exhaust design. The success of their early endeavours can be judged by the number of manufacturers which brought De Dion engines to manufactured them under licence and by the number of De Dion Bouton cars which take part in the annual London to Brighton run. Their later multi-cylinder engines were well manufactured and maintained the company's reputation for quality and reliability. Whilst in the hands of its previous American owner, this car won several awards in the Concours class and, in fact, is described as being in perfect condition now. During the mid 1980's this attractive and very rare car caught the eye of the late Charles Edwards, who brought it to New Zealand. There is a strong rumour that he kept it in his living room!! Original price was US$2,780 - well in the quality class. It has no current W.O.F.

Over a three year period, this attractive example has been prepared to Concours condition (there are $30,000 of restoration receipts!) completely reconditioned motor and automatic transmission, stainless steel exhaust, electrics, tyres etc. The car has been repainted silver blue - interior grey with new carpets, pipings and headlinings from the UK. The original Daimler tool kit, radio and manual as well as a car cover is included. Work receipts are available. This car is reputed to have travelled only 7,500 miles since February 1989 when restoration commenced and looks and drives as it would have 29 years ago. It has a current warrant of fitness and is an outstanding example of this model. It won the Daimler Concours Award on 3rd November 1991 at the British Field Day. NZ$22,000-29,000
15 1954 Velocette L.EMark II '200' Motorcycle
Registration No: 31MGL Frame No: Not quoted Engine No: Not quoted Specifications: Engine, 192cc water cooled, side valve, flat twin cylinders. Three speed hand changed gears with two plate clutch to a drive shaft (not chain). Internal expanding brakes, tyres 19" x 3". Velocette spring-damped forks. Starting by the way of a gently pulled starting handle. Veloce Limited produced their first cycle around 1909, a 500cc model costing 40 guineas which was followed, in time, by their famous two-stroke model. In 1925, the first of the overhead camshaft models appeared. For the next few years these enjoyed many racing successes. Pre-1950 models of the 'LE' 149cc, post-1950 the engine was enlarged to 192cc. The extra power made all the difference, especially when carrying a passenger. 'LEs' were noted for their quietness - the Auckland City Council Traffic Department used them for some years and surprised many an erring motorist. With its monocoupe frame, plenty of weather protection, low centre of gravity and partially enclosed 'workings', it proved a popular commuter vehicle for both men and women. This example sold, 'as a car on two wheels' is finished in the standard Silver Grey, complete and exact in every detail including the two panniers. Its general condition is first class. A delightful, easy to maintain vehicle. NZ$3,300-4,000
16 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible
Registration No: MX1953 Chassis and Engine No: V75227716839385 Specifications: VS Fireball OHV engine, bore and stroke 4" x 3.25', 188HP at 4,000 RPM, Dynaflow automatic transmission, coil springs, wheelbase 10'6". Buick observed its 50th year of motor car production in 1953 and its new Skylark helped usher in the golden Anniversary year of the Flint, Michigan division of General Motors. The anniversary Skylark was promoted in Buick advertising as 'a six passenger sports car' and the 'originator of a new trend'. According to GM Buick, 1953 production fell just short of the half-million mark at 488,805 and only a scant 1,690 of them were Skylark editions. By 1979, it was estimated that only 40 were still in existence - not only interesting, but rare. The sporty Skylark comes with a lengthy list of standard features in addition to the above specifications - power steering and brakes, power top, radio with powered antenna, stylish 40 spoke wire wheels, whitewall tyres, inside hood release, movement in and out of the rear compartment is by tilting split seat backs which automatically slide the seat cushion forward. This LHD car was imported from Norfolk, Virginia in 1986 and service invoices are available. It has a current warrant of fitness. The Skylark is a beautiful and distinctive 'dream car' in very good condition. It represents a rare purchase opportunity. NZ$45,000-60,000
17 1925 Armstrong Siddeley Cotswald Tourer
Registration No: EK25 Chassis No: 19981 Engine No: 14982 Specifications: 1,852cc, four cylinder monobloc OHV, bore and stroke 76mm x 100mm, three speed gearbox with spiral bevel drive, single plate clutch of special A.S. design, semi-elliptic springs front and rear, four wheel brakes, wheelbase 9'6", tyre size 29" x 4.95". Armstrong Siddeley Motors Limited, of Coventry, first came into being in 1919 through a fusion of Armstrong-Whitworth's car making activities with Siddeley-Deasey Limited. Their products were always solidly built family vehicles, with emphasis on good workmanship, comfort and ease of driving, rather than high performance. Readily identifiable by their multi-stud disc wheels and Sphinx mascots, one of which graces the radiator of this particular car. The last Armstrong Siddeley came off the line in 1960. This car was 'discovered' in a run down state in Auckland during the 1960's by Mr Chris Shelley - well known in vintage car club circles - who completely restored it to its original condition except for the electrical system which was changed to 12 volt with a coil added. The engine, running gear, instruments etc, appear to be original. The car has been rallied extensively throughout New Zealand - winning many awards, including its category in a previous international rally. It is described as being in good condition with a current W.O.F. and is booked for the 1992 B.P. International Rally. NZ$28,000-37,000
18 1955 MG 'TF' 1500 Two Seater Sports
Registration No: KI1955 Chassis No: HOE 23-10085 Engine no: FE 198436 Specifications: Four cylinder overhead water-cooled monobloc engine, bore and stroke 72 x 90, four speed gearbox, coil and wishbone independent front suspension, semi-elliptic leaf springs at rear, shaft drive to live rear axle. Wheelbase 7 foot 10 inches. colour metallic green. The 'TF made its first appearance in 1953 and represented its makers first concession to aerodynamic principals, whilst at the same time retaining the traditional pre-war archetypal British sportscar appearance. It may be regarded as a transitional model, spanning the gulf between the 'TD' and the new 'MGA' which heralded the 1956 season. Nevertheless, it is significant in that it represented the very last traditional sportscar design to be offered by a major manufacturer in the United Kingdom and, if one discounts Morgan, it signifies the end of an era. This example was first registered in Australia in 1955 and in New Zealand in 1965. This car is described as being in very good condition in all departments having the benefit of a Brayshaw restoration. It has a current Warrant of Fitness. One of the last 'knock-off wire wheeled true British sportscars, it will stand out in any company. NZ$45,000-55,000

1968 Cadillac Eldorado Coupe Registration No: C A D Chassis No: 8281571 Engine No: 8281571 Specifications: Overhead valve V8 engine, 7.75 litre developing 375 BHP, bore and stroke 4.3" x 4.06", three speed automatic transmission, front wheel drive, wheelbase 10'0", 15" tyres, Suspension: torsion bar front - single leaf rear. Cadillac's advertising slogan, 'The Standard of the World', first appeared in 1912, and their first V8, a landmark in the history of the motorcar, left the production line in 1915. It was to capture a significant slice of the luxury car market, finding many satisfied buyers, and to the average American the name, Cadillac, became synonymous with wealth and success. The V8 was continually developed and, with the 1928 introduction of Earl A Thompson's 'synchro-mesh', was soon to be the standard in worldwide car production. In 1967, Cadillac followed Oldsmobile's lead by adding a big front-wheel drive car to its range - the Eldorado. This is a 'big' car - 18'5" in length by 6'8" wide, finished in white with a black hood. It is original (unrestored) factory condition, apart from a totally professional conversion to RH drive. Genuine mileage is given at 56,000 miles. The car is described as being in good all-round condition. This is a handsome and desirable car and should appeal to the enthusiast. NZ$19,000-25,000
20 1966 Jaguar 3.4 Mark II Saloon
Registration No: DB9371 Chassis No: 170053BW Engine No: LC7329-S Specifications: Six cylinder, water cooled monobloc, overhead camshaft, bore & stroke 83 x 106, 3442cc, four speed gearbox - synchromesh on 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, overdrive, independent coil spring and wishbone front suspension, trailing link rear suspension by cantilever semi-elliptic springs, wheelbase 2.727m, chromed 'knock-off wire wheels. Jaguar's first post-war compact saloon appeared in September 1955 with the 2.4 litre engine, but it was not until 1957 that the larger XK engined 3.4 car appeared developing some 210 BHP at 5,500 RPM. This particular Jaguar was completely restored by Dr Beacham at Hastings in April 1989 and has motored just 2,095 miles since. As with all Dr Beacham's work, the workmanship and finish is superb, with beautiful American burr walnut reveneered woodwork, Connelly leathered seats and door panels, air horns, AM/FM stereo radio cassette player, with central mounted roof aerial, fully carpeted boot, heavy gauge steel exhaust system and Dunlop radial tyres. The car won first prize at Montery Park in april of this year. For 'Grace, Pace and Space' together with comfort and safety, this 3.4 gives a very special kind of motoring. NZ$70,000-79,000
21 1977 Aston Martin V8 Sports Saloon Coupe Registration No: MK8715 Chassis No: VS/11459 /RCA Engine No: V /540/1459 Specifications: Engine, V8 90 degrees water cooled monobloc, four cylinder camshafts, bore 100mm, stroke 85mm, capacity 5,340cc. Carburettor, 4 x Weber 42. Transmission Chrysler Torqueflite three speed automatic, hypoid rear axle. Suspension, independent coil springs, wheelbase 8feet 8.7inches. Steering, rack and pinion. Tyres, Michelins. Sometimes referred to as the DBS V8, it was the last significant car produced by Aston Martin under David Brown's ownership, the end of a long line of high speed, high performance models which had made the company world famous. The car had acquired distinctive American looks and not surprisingly as much of the marketing was directed towards the United States. Using powerful Tadek Marek designed 5,340cc 90 degree V8 cylinder alloy engines, these were real driving machines with quite thrilling handling characteristics. The luxurious interiors were trimmed in leather and the comprehensive instruments set out across the broad dashboard made an impressive display. Quoted from an Autocar test in October 1978 'this latest example from the Newport Bagnell Factory stood out as the best built and most comfortably finished car we have ever known Aston Martin to produce.' This car has been professionally restored both mechanically and paint work - a video and tape of the work done is available - though the mileage is recorded as 123,000 miles, the general overall condition is reported as being perfect except for the inside trim which reflects its usage. To be behind the wheel is a driver's delight. NZ$55,000-70,000
22 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS
Registration No: MY 4RE (not included) Chassis No: 61123 Engine No: 00485 Specifications: Engine V8 90 degree, Bore and stroke 3.268 x 2.898 ws. Maximum power 270Hp at 7000 RPM. Maximum speed advertised at 163.4 MPH, four overhead camshafts. Dry single plate clutch and five speed all synchromesh gearbox operated by central remote control gear lever. Independent front and rear suspension. Engine placed at rear, cooling system by forward mounted radiator with automatic electric fans. No Italian make of car commands such world wide respect as the Ferrari, yet as a marque Ferrari has only existed since 1940. Enzo Ferrari first joined Alpha Romeo as driver and tester in 1920 winning several races. In 1929 he founded a unique rolling stable, the SCUDERIA Ferrari using as its escutcheon the prancing horse motif formally used by a famous Italian airman who died in World War I. Later he ran the GP Alfos for the factory scoring some great victories. In 1938 he left to form his own company and in 1940 raced his first two cars. After the war development proceeded apace - racing cars as well as road cars, the first being the TP class carrying bodies by FARINA, TOURING, GHIA and others. V12 engines were used in a good proportion of Ferrari cars and he was one of the earliest to place some, though not all of his engines in the rear hatch in racing and road cars. This superb car is an outstanding example of Ferrari construction and engineering with two seater berlinetto body by PININFARINA. Leather upholstery and factory fitted rear aerofoil. Mileage a bare 13,350. General condition is excellent. Probably the best Ferrari we have seen in New Zealand. NZ$155,000-165,000
23 1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
Registration No: OK8192 Chassis No: 667260 Engine No: F3010-8 Specification: six cylinder in line, watercooled monobloc, double overhead camshaft, overhead valves, bore 83mm, stroke 106mm, capacity 3,442cc, Moss four speed manual gearbox, dry plate clutch, hypoid bevel live rear axle, independent front suspension by torsion bar, semi-elliptic leaf springs at rear. Wheelbase 8ft 6in, tyres 15in CWW. Jaguar cars presented the exciting new XK120 in 1948, and this startling looking sports car caused a sensation amongst the British motoring public, who had been starved of new models of this quality for most of the decade to that date. The new XK series double overhead camshaft engine provided the basis for Jaguar's models for the following twenty or so years, and if the performance was limited slightly by the reliance on drum brakes, the cars were still extremely quick, and saw immediate use on the competitive racing circuits of the day. The graceful lines of this elegantly styled model were complimented by three body types; open roadster, sports coupe, and the drophead coupe, of which this present car is a handsome example. This car was imported to New Zealand from England, and has recently been the subject of a bare metal repaint in white to a very high standard, including lead wiping the body panels. It is described as being in extremely good condition in all departments, and the interior trim is original and in good order. The brakes were thoroughly overhauled at the same time, and overall the vehicle is thought to be very correct in all details. No modifications from original factory specification are noted although it is fitted with 15in tyres rather that the customary 16in size. Only 294 examples of the drophead coupe were produced to right hand drive specification, making this desirable all weather version quite scarce, and New Zealand registration documents are provided. It would of course also be able to return to the UK duty free if the purchaser so desired. NZ$70,000-85,000

1967 Jaguar 'E' Type Series I 4.2 Litre Roadster
Registration No: DO5629 Chassis No: IE1675 Engine No: 7E 10111 Specification: Engine six cylinder in line, water cooled monobloc, twin overhead camshaft, bore 92.07mm, stroke 106mm, capacity 4,235cc. Gearbox four speed manual, all synchromesh, laycock diaphragm clutch, hypoid rear axle with limited slip differential. Independent front and rear suspension. Wheelbase 8feet. Tyres 215/70 x 15 Michelin XWX tyres. The E type caused a sensation when it was first exhibited in 1961, and the successor to the extraordinary series of XK Jaguar cars was immediately popular. The XKE type was and advanced car for 1961, well ahead in engineering terms, and in style from the previous cars, and featured magnificent new coachwork supported by a monocoque space frame. The developed Xk engine gave a top speed of 150MPH, with impressive performance to match and the cars followed a successful competition history which stimulated private sales considerably. From 1964, the car was offered with a 4.2 litre engine unit developing 265 bhp at 5,400rpm. The cabin was trimmed to Jaguar's usual high standard in leather and had an impressive range of instruments set across a broad wooden dashboard; the resultant impression of an aircraft cockpit made driving the car even more exciting. The model became very much the epitome of the British sports car for many people during the 1960's and 1970's. This car was delivered new to Shorters in 1967 and has had five careful owners. Despite its performance enhancing modifications such as brakes uprated to series 2 specifications, Koni dampers, motor balancing for performance, it is the car's originality which stands out in inspection. It retains its original interior, mohair hood, factory hard-top in its original finish, and chrome wire wheels. Exterior bodywork was repainted ten years ago in the original shade of Carmen red. Subsequent models also lacked the triplex glass headlight covers. This car featured as the cover story in the October 1991 New Zealand Classic Car . This example is described as being in excellent condition through-out and is another outstanding E type. NZ$95,000-110,000
25 1971 Morgan 4/4 Sports Two Seater Registration No: MO442 Chassis No: B23S7 Engine No: OG24C756 Specifications: Four cylinder Ford Kent 1600 2737E G.T., overhead valve, Bore 80.97, stoke 77.62, 1598cc, developing 93 BHP. Four speed manual gearbox to line axle. Suspension: Traditional Morgan patented front independent, leaf spring rear. 72 spoke wire wheels fitted with PIRELLI tyres. This vehicle was imported to New Zealand in 1985 and has had two New Zealand owners. An extensive chassis up restoration by South Pacific Restoration Ltd included and entirely new wood frame and body panels and doors remade. Painted white with black hide trim, it has all the appeal and good looks of a true British sportscar. Reliability and fast travelling is assured. Overall condition is described as excellent. Genuine mileage is 68,000 miles and it has a current warrant of fitness. Imported from the UK allows this car to be re-exported to the UK duty free. NZ$36,000-45,000

Unveiled at the Geneva Show in 1961, the first of the new generation E type Jaguars caused a sensation with its sleek lines and e~arating 150mph performance. Originally available in 3.8 litre form, the model was later fitted with the 4.2 litre engine and was offered in Roadster or hatchback two seater coupe form, later to be joined by the longer wheelbase car with 2 + 2 fixed head coupe coachwork. This vehicle was the subject of a 2000 hour restoration in 1990 when it was stripped to a bare body shell, then metal finished, professionally painted and rust proofed. All mechanical, electrical and suspension components and instruments have either been replaced or restored to original condition. The braking system has been upgraded with the fitting of ventilated front discs and stainless steel brake pistons. The original power steering rack was replaced with a brand new original specification unit. The interior trim was totally replaced using the correct materials and a four speaker Blaupunkt sound system was installed. Koni shock absorbers have been fitted. Apart from the changes to the braking system, the change to the higher final drive ration and the stereo system, the car is absolutely authentic in all respects and is in effect a new car which has gunmetal body colour and dark blue trim. 27 1926 Ford Model 'T' Roadster Utility
Registration No: NF5758 Chassis No: N/A Engine No: C489891 Specifications: Engine: four cylinder side valve, water cooled monobloc, bore 95mm, stroke 102mm, 2,896cc, ??? horsepower 22.4HP. Gearbox, two speed epicycle, multi plate clutch, shaft drive to line rear axle, worm final drive. Transverse semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension front and rear, wheelbase 8feet 4inches. Tyres 30 x 3.5 inches beaded edge. Ford's extraordinary Model T was announced in 1908 and continued in production until 1928. More than fifteen million units were produced, and with second hand cars changing hands in the 1930's for as little as five pounds, who knows how many more first time drivers struggled with Ford's unique pedal arrangement and hand control levers. The cars were, by the standards of the day, fast, comfortable and reliable, and they found buyers in every corner of the world. The high clearance afforded by large wheels and transverse steel springs enabled the Model T to traverse countryside impassable to many other vehicles, and several components companies manufactured tractor kits with frame extensions and large steel wheels allowing the car to be used for touring on weekends having ploughed the fields during the week! The car was certainly 'universal', and countless body styles were fitted to the tough but lightweight chassis, including numerous trucks and vans. This 'T' was manufactured in Canada and fitted with a comfortable two seater roadster utility body. It was fully restored by Christchurch Coachbuilders in 1986 - painted black of course. It is described as being in absolute Concours condition uwith a current warrant of fitness. Put the straw hatted kids in the back and off you go. NZ$18,000-26,000

With its sleek lines and exhilarating 150 MPH(240 KPH) performance, the model won instant recognition as one of the world's great cars. the famous XK series engine powered the early cars and the lighter bodies and streamlined headlight fairings ensured superlative handling at speed. This example has been re-manufactured rather than restored by the Toyland (Restoration) limited, one of the leading restoration firms in Australasia. It is, in effect, a new car. There is a complete restoration specification, totalling 3,000 hours, available. This 'new' car is described as absolutely authentic in all respects and, as such, should not be compared with 'original' vehicles. It should be seen as the New Zealand equivalent of the cars produced by the major U.K. restoration firms. With its Signal Red finish and black upholstery, it will stand out in any Concours. Indicated mileage is 76,000 miles, though only 500 of these have been added since restoration. This superb roadster would more than hold its own in amy worldwide concours competition and it offers a unique buying opportunity - so perfect is its presentation. NZ$90,000-115,000
