Peter Webb Galleries Limited publishes its estimates of the prices likely to be realized for all the lots in the catalogue.
The estimates appear following each description.
The estimates are intended as a guide for prospective purchasers. Lots may be sold below or above estimates depending on the degree of competition for them.
If instructed, the auctioneers will carry out bidding for intending purchasers. The service is free and all bids are treated in strict confidence. Lots will be bought as cheaply as the room bids allow and with regard to any reserves placed upon them by the sellers. _______C_O_N_D_I_TI_O_N_S_O_F_S_A_LE______
1. The highest bidder to the purchaser, subject to the Auctioneers having a right to refuse the bidding of any person. Should any dispute arise as to the biddings, the lot in dispute to be immediately put up for sale again at the preceding bidding, or the Auctioneers may declare the purchaser.
2. No person shall advance less at a bid than a sum to be nominated by the Auctioneer and no bid shall be retracted.
3. All lots are sold subject to the right of the seller or his agent to bid or else to impose a reserve.
4. The purchaser to give his name , address and to pay down 1O percent of the purchase money in part payment thereof. In default of any of which matters the lot or lots purchased may be immediately put up again and resold.
5. All lots are sold as shown and with all faults, imperfections, and errors to description. The Auctioneers act as agents; they have full discretion to refuse any bidding or to withdraw any lot or lots from the sale without in either case giving any reason; neither they nor the Vendor are responsible for errors of description or for genuineness or authenticity of any lot or fault or defect in it, and make no warranty whatever.
6. The lots are at the buyer 's risk from the fall of the hammer and are to be taken away at the buyer 's expense, in default of which the Auctioneers will not hold themselves responsible ; if the same are lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise destroyed, but they will be left at the sole risk of the purchaser. If the lots are not cleared or paid for, they may then be sold immediately either publicly or by private treaty, without any notice being given to the defaulter
7. Upon failure of the purchaser to comply with any of the above conditions the money deposited in part paym ents shall be forfeited, and the defaulter shall make good any loss arising from the resale, together with the charges and expenses in respect of both sales.
8. No goods are to be removed while selling is in progress. Receipted invoices must be produced prior to delivery of any lot. The Auctioneers reserve the right to request ide ntification in the case of any purchaser not known to the Auctioneer who pays by cheque. Charging to credit cards will not be accepted as means of payment.
" No person being the purchaser of any item falling within the provisions of the Antiquities Act 1975 or the Arms Act 1958 shall be entitled to take possession of such item or to demand possession thereof from the Auctioneer unless and until such person produces to the Auctioneer a licence pursuant to the appropriate one of the two Acts referred to above."
lnsurance:-
AII lots are purchased at the risk of the purchaser from the fall of the hammer. Insurance can be arrangea with the Sun Alliance & London Insurance Group on an "A ll Risks " basis for a premium of 1%.

lnstructions to bid at sale are accepted by Peter Webb Galleries Limited and carried out free of charge. Lots will be bought as favourably as is allowed by the bidding the saleroom and reserve imposed.
lnspections:-
lnspections are made and advice given concerning the sale of Antiques and Works of Art free of charge in Auckland, and, for a reasonable fee elsewhere.
Valuations:-
valuations for insurance, probate or family division are undertaken on either a quotation basis or a small percentage plus travelling expenses. The charge is remitted on all property valued that is sold through Peter Webb Galleries Limited within a reasonable time.
