Bertha Kinnear (Ber) Taylor
1906-1987 Born in Auckland, Ber Taylor trained as a teacher. As an artist she was largely self taught although she attended classes conducted by Colin McCahon during the late fifties. Her husband asserts that Ber Taylor rarely signed her work and he has provided the following paintings, which all come from his collection, with certificates. Ber Taylor had wide interests in art including the theatre, films and photography as well as in womens' affairs. She was a longtime contributing member and one time president of the Auckland Society of Arts and from 19721975 she was President of the Auckland Lyceum Club.
