St. Ambrose Family Shelter www.ccab.org/stambrose St. Ambrose Family Shelter, a residential services site of Catholic Charities, is a homeless shelter located in the Field's Corner section of Dorchester.

Our goal is to provide shelter, support and hope for homeless families in transition.

Rosie’s Place www.rosies.org Since 1974 poor and homeless women have found an oasis of hope and nourishment at Rosie’s Place. The mission of Rosie’s Place is to help women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives.

Pine Street Inn www.pinestreetinn.org Pine Street Inn is a not-for-profit organization committed to men, women and children in need of shelter, sustenance, and the basic moral and material supports necessary to lead a dignified and stable life.

It is the mission of the inn, in all its programs, to be a community of respect and hope for each guest it serves; to be a resource through which neighbors and friends can help to meet the basic needs of others; and to serve as a national leader in the fight to end homelessness.

With the support of families and the broader community, Sociedad Latina fulfills its critical mission by providing a broad array of programs that promote community leadership, civic engagement, meaningful employment, educational attainment, cultural identity and pride, and the continuation of traditions.

Beacon Academy http://www.beaconacademy.org Beacon Academy is a 14-month prep school for high school, the only one of its kind in the nation, which prepares Boston area students for the challenges and opportunities of independent and competitive public exam high schools. Students who have successfully completed 8th grade may apply for this extra year of rigorous academics, social, and cultural experiences.

Marian Manor www.marianmanor.org Founded in 1954, Marian Manor is a non-profit long term care facility served by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. Located in South Boston's historic Dorchester Heights area, the Manor offers 282 residents skilled care, and 11 residents are served in its residential care section. Marian Manor residents are encouraged to maintain a life of wholeness. The facility strives to provide for the physical, spiritual, psychosocial, intellectual and recreational needs of the residents in a homelike environment, which respects their individuality.

OLPH Mission Grammar School www.missiongrammar.org OLPH Mission Grammar is a small urban school located in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Roxbury, MA. OLPH Mission Grammar, founded in 1889, educates children from around the world. Rooted in Catholic values and traditions, administration and faculty work under our school logo, Unity in Diversity, Excellence in Education.

Notre Dame Education Center www.ndecboston.org Notre Dame Education Center founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame offers tuition-free literacy classes to low income, mostly minority, adults throughout Boston, so that they can gain jobs, become contributing members of their communities, and generally improve their lives. Evening classes are offered at nominal fees for students with jobs. The Center currently teaches more than 500 adults annually in two main programs: Adult Literacy, and English for Speakers of Other Languages.

Greater Boston Food Bank www.gbfb.org The Greater Boston Food Bank is New England’s largest hunger relief organization serving as a nonprofit clearinghouse for food donated by the private sector to help feed those who are hungry.

Volunteers inspect, sort and repack products that will then be distributed to member feeding programs.

Boston Living Center www.bostonlivingcenter.org The Boston Living Center gives people the tools to live with HIV / AIDS. Their mission is to foster the wellness of all HIV positive people and respond to the changing needs of the HIV / AIDS community.

Through peer leadership and support, we strive to enhance and enrich the lives of our members by providing education, treatment information and support services with the goal of empowering members to live productive lives and participate in their family and communities activities.

Boston Rescue Mission www.brm.org Boston Rescue Mission is a shelter for men.

Volunteers work on various projects throughout the shelter, including: cleaning, painting, preparing and serving lunch and sorting in the pantry.

St. Francis House www.stfrancishouse.org St. Francis House is a homeless day shelter open seven days a week 365 days a year serving men and women from ages 18 years old and up. Volunteers learn about all that St. Francis offers its guests and work in their Clothing, Meals, and Moving Ahead Program.

Community Servings www.servings.org Community Servings is Boston’s only free homedelivered meals program for individuals and families living with AIDS. Volunteers prepare and package meals.

Saturday/Sunday Bread www.satsunbread.org Saturday / Sunday Bread is a soup kitchen that serves meals on the weekends. Volunteers assist with meal preparation and service.

Cradles to Crayons www.cradlestocrayons.org Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization, serving children in need in the greater Boston area by collecting and distributing, free of charge, new and "gently used" children's items. Volunteers sort and package various donated items.

Charles River Conservancy www.charlesriverconservancy.org The Charles River Conservancy (CRC) is a nonprofit advocacy group founded in 1999 dedicated to the renovation, maintenance and enrichment of the Charles River Basin and its surroundings, particularly its parks, parkways, and bridges.

N.I.C.E. Preschool N.I.C.E. Inc. is a non profit, bi-lingual, early education center serving the needs of 120 children ages 3 months to 6 years old, located in Roxbury, MA.

Zoo New England, Franklin Park www.zoonewengland.com Zoo New England is the private, non-profit organization responsible for the operation and management of the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts. The Franklin Park Zoo, founded in 1911, is a 72-acre site nestled in Boston's historic Franklin Park.

Volunteers help with the up keep of the Zoo’s grounds.

Peace First www.peacefirst.org Peace First empowers students to create their own safe classrooms and communities by forming partnerships with elementary schools, families, and young adult volunteers.

Haley House www.haleyhouse.org From rich and diverse spiritual traditions Haley House addresses the needs of society’s forgotten people, challenge the structures that create violence and offer alternatives to the attitudes that perpetuate suffering. Haley House is a non-profit, started in 1966 in Boston’s South End. Originally providing basic necessities, we have gradually developed new ways to address the other challenges faced by the people we serve. Our strategy is to mobilize resources to support people in their move toward economic independence and meaningful lives.

Volunteers will assist with food preparation and service.

Julie’s Family Learning Program www.juliesfamily.org Founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame, Julie’s Family Learning Program is committed to the development of strong healthy family functioning among high risk, low-income families. The goals of the program encompass a commitment to break the legacy of poverty that exists among these families. We are committed to providing services that enable mothers and their children to become healthy, responsible, and successful at life and economically self-sufficient members of the community.
