Meet the Coach Rob Miller is the Head Coach for the Women’s Tennis team. Miller has been at the helm of the program since 1999. His collegiate coaching experience includes serving as head coach of the men’s tennis programs at Boston College and Boston University, in addition to an earlier stint with the Saints. During his three seasons with the BC Eagles, he led the team to an overall record of 37-29 and a Big East mark of 14-4. At BU, he guided the Terriers to an American East Championship in 1999. His first goaround at Emmanuel included two Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) titles and an undefeated season in 1996. Miller also spent 12 years as head coach at Brookline High School, where he led the program to nine Bay State Conference Championships. In 1988, he was named Massachusetts Division I High School Coach of the Year. As a player, Miller has won tennis tournaments in seven different countries and held the No. 1 ranking in men’s 50 doubles. He has been a member of the USTA New England Team in the Athletic Coast Cup and the Friendship Cup, which he captained in 2002. Miller serves on the Dunlop-Slazenger Tennis Professional Promotional Staff, is part of the Park School Summer Program, and is an advisor for Tennis Europe. He is a graduate of Beloit College (Wisconsin).

Facilities The Saints practice and play their collegiate matches on the six outdoorlighted courts at the nearby Winsor School. The private girls’ high school is located just across Brookline Avenue from Emmanuel College and is within easy walking distance from the college campus. In addition, the Saints have access to a state-of-the-art training facility in the Jean Yawkey Center as well as the St. Joseph Hall fitness center, which is updated with new platforms, racks, free weights, plate-loaded equipment and a separate cardio room.

Great Northeast Athletic Conference Emmanuel College competes in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), comprised of 14 New England colleges and universities. Teams that win a GNAC Championship receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. GNAC colleges with participating women’s tennis programs include: Albertus Magnus College, Anna Maria College, Emerson College, Johnson & Wales University, Mount Ida College, Pine Manor College, Simmons College, St. Joseph College (Conn.) and Suffolk University.
