“Bee” Kind to Pollinators: Our Survival Depends on It

Approximately one out of every three bites of food needs a pollinator's assistance to transfer pollen for reproduction. And since 90% of flowering plant species require pollinators, they also support healthy ecosystems that provide clean air, stabilize soils and support other wildlife.

Pollinator populations are declining, both in abun- dance and diversity. National Red List Assessments show that often, more than 40% of bee species are threatened. Key threats include loss of habitat, overuse of chemicals and climate change. Planting a pollinator garden is a simple way to help our local population of pollinators.
