It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Music Showcase Saturday, an event that combines top class racing with a concert by Ronan Keating.
This is also the finale of The Sky Bet Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival, firmly established thanks to the generous backing of sponsors, Sky Bet and Goldsborough Hall. The charity for this festival is Racing Welfare, the jockeys have been taking the “Paddock & Chips” challenge, with their shooting accuracy rewarding this cause, give them a cheer in the Paddock at 12.30pm
In Yorkshire we have nine racecourses, over 100 training yards, the National Racing College, Jack Berry House and Goffs Bloodstock Sales, we are proud to be a part of such a successful sport and industry in the County.
The generous support of today’s sponsor has helped offer record prize money approaching £400,000 headed by the Group Two Sky Bet York Stakes. The boost in prize money reflects the global significance of the action as the two feature races are available on the World Pool platform offered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Run over a mile and a quarter, racing fans will remember Twice Over winning both this race and the Group One Juddmonte International. You can see by the York logo next to their name that Almaqam and Stanhope Gardens are already eyeing a similar summer, with connections of the others knowing they could supplement to join the showpiece. The field is headed by four-year-old, Almaqam, last seen winning the Brigadier Gerard Stakes, proving it is a clash of the generations he faces three-year-olds such as Stanhope Gardens, fifth in the Derby at Epsom. What price the oldest ever victor in nine-year-old Certain Lad? - around 18/1 with the sponsors!
The £100,000 Sky Bet Dash has attracted a maximum field- topped by Elmonjed, trained by Yorkshireman-in-exile William Haggas having won the equally valuable Constantine Handicap at the Sky Bet Ebor Festival 2024.
The fourth race is unique as the jump jockeys, used to three miles plus around Cheltenham get their chance to exit from the stalls to face the shortest distance possible, just five furlongs. Twenty of them will test this new skill including Joe Williamson aboard Soul Seeker- first and second in this race for the last two years. York record holder, Copper Knight, is to be ridden by Jamie Hamilton, trying to land his 8th victory on the Knavesmire at the thirty-third time of asking.
If you are a first-time visitor today, please do explore the racecourse - use the maps on p4-5 & p6-7 to guide you.
Thank you for your support today and during the wider Sky Bet Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival. We go up a further gear in staging our flagship meeting, the Sky Bet Ebor Festival (20-23 August) where some of the best horses look set to compete over four days of top-class racing, fashion and fun - we hope to welcome you back.
Please respect our neighbours and city as you make your way home this evening, but for now, I hope you thoroughly enjoy your visit.

Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai is proud to be supporting two Group 2 features - the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Middleton Stakes and the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Dante Stakes – races which continue to form an integral part of our partnership with York Racecourse and our wider international sponsorship portfolio.
This year we have extended our support to include title sponsorship of the new Al Basti Equiworld , Dubai Summer Saturday on 28th June which combines exciting Group 3 action on the track with post-racing entertainment to match, ahead of our return in August for the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Gimcrack Stakes in August.
Congratulations are due to York Racecourse Chairman, Bridget Guerin, and the York Racecourse Committee for their continued commitment to continually improving the quality of racing on the Knavesmire and ever increasing prize money which I am sure will prove to be a compelling proposition for owners and trainers throughout the season.
I wish them and all those involved with staging of today’s meeting horses a pleasant and successful day.

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part usually in three races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

A RACECOURSE FOR ALL
We want the racecourse to offer both a welcome and an enjoyable evening to all our racegoers and in delivering that we recognise that some may need additional assistance from us. We are also pleased to recognise the sunflower lanyard scheme.
The first thing to say, please just ask for help, if the team don’t have an instant answer, then they know someone who will. The team in the Racecourse Reception (behind the Ebor Stand) act as the link to the rest of the team, as needed.
FAQS
Is there accessible and blue badge parking?
Yes, I hope you found it. All our car parks have designated spaces near their front row. Can I get help with getting to/from the car park, taxi rank or shuttle buses?
Yes, there is a complimentary buggy service to all these points, ask a member of the team and they will radio to arrange your collection. Thank you for your patience as the buggies have a maximum of six passengers, and only one is wheelchair accessible and it’s a big site.
Can I bring a wheelchair?
Yes, if you need to; but we also offer complimentary hire, again from Racecourse Reception (see told you they were the hub). As we hope you’ll appreciate, there are only so many wheelchairs on site, if you need to reserve in advance then call 01904 620911. Considerately piloted mobility scooters are permitted.
Can I bring somebody to help?
Yes, we appreciate that will come in various forms, we hope our “companion comes free” scheme is a help, before your next visit check it out online at www.yorkracecourse.co.uk or just ask the team today.
Are there wheelchair viewing platforms?
Yes, in all stand side area and Stands - easiest thing to do is to ask our Stewards, though a map is available from, you guessed it, Racecourse Reception. Please use these in the spirit intended, with carers being prepared to step aside to allow space for those who need the view the most. There is a dedicated viewing space for the music.
What about toilets and are they part of the Radar scheme?
Yes they are, all the permanent toilet blocks have a accessible capability, please ask for directions, the team nearby have keys, or check that map from you know where.
Are their wheelchair height food and drink counters?
Yes there are but not as many as we’d like, please ask a member of the team to assist you.
Wheelchair height betting?
Yes, there are some Tote counters set at a reduced height though a better plan might be to use the courier service that operates in areas such as the main Champagne Lawns; the Tote team themselves are always willing to help.
Can I bring my assistance dog?
Of course, as the tribute to Grady demonstrates, registered assistance dogs are most welcome. There was one more thing?
Please ask, we are keen to help wherever we can, appreciating our racegoers may face a range of challenges.

A WINTER’S TALE:
WHAT IS NEW AT YORK THIS SEASON?
NEXT GENERATION CANOPIES CHAMPAGNE LAWNS
Nine next generation canopies now stand proudly on the Champagne Lawns. Clever enough to let the grass grow beneath them, they should prove popular if we get a summer shower. For the October racedays the built-in heaters will allow racegoers to keep enjoying the fresh air Each one has a speaker, so the race commentary will come to your table
BUSTARDTHORPE END
SOUTHERN END DEVELOPMENT
Last August we were honoured when Her Majesty The Queen, our Royal Patron, opened this development to the South of the Knavesmire Stand. Check out the Churchill Tyres lawn & canopy, the Theakston and Guinness bars, as well as food outlets and a WIlliam Hill shop
MR MOWITALL
Joining the grounds team over winter were a trio of robotic mowers, one creatively named, Mr Mowitall. They are helping with the lawns and car parks, leaving the human talent better able to focus on the track itself
THE TEAM NEVER REST
Maintenance is key, if a little dull. Over 6,000 pints of paint have been used by the team this winter and the Knavesmire Stand Roof has had extensive repairs, (it is nearly thirty years old!).
A LIVING FLOWER WALL
OPPOSITE THE MELROSE STAND
The flowers are petunia and petchoa, grown by Head Gardener, Zak Rafferty and his team, from seedlings in our greenhouses. That Insta moment now has real flowers behind it.
THE
BARS HAVE IT
Over the Winter a number of bars have been given a face-lift. There is a new Pink Gin & Cocktail Bar on the main Champagne Lawns, a second Guinness Bar near the Roberto Lawn, with a refreshed Kylie Minogue Wines Bar next door The fun murals from the Dublin based brand should make a good selfie
NEW ON THE MENU
Around the racecourse there are a lot of new choices. Perhaps the sweet treats of the Churros will follow your Nachos, both are now part of the Knavesmire Courtyard offering.
If you like spice, then the eateries on the ground floors of both the Knavesmire and Ebor Stands now serve our homemade Curry Club dishes.
Finger lickin’ chicken? Try the grills in either the Bustardthorpe End or the John Carr Terrace. Try the Rustic Pizza freshly baked at the Moët Roof Terrace.

A tentative vote goes to CALLING A STAR, who showed major improvement from first to second start when fourth over C&D last time out. She is narrowly preferred to Golden Palace, who has a 6lb penalty to carry for a taking success on debut over shorter at Beverley. Berlinetta is another open to progress, while newcomer Dark Angel Star cannot be ruled out either

AUGUST CALENDAR
With the first stage of entries received for the feature races at the
20 Wednesday
Things to do: Win a race that has thrice been best in the world
Twenty seven of the best middle distance horses are currently entered in the £1.25m Juddmonte International. An intriguing list of hopefuls is made all the more interesting by the entry of Sheema Classic winner, Danon Decile, owned by Danox Co Ltd and trained by Shogo Yasuda. It would be a first European excursion for the team and they will be hoping to go one better than Zenno Rob Roy, who finished second exactly twenty years ago after making the 25,000-mile round trip. France could be well represented with the likes of Caldangan, who was last seen winning the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Dual Derby winner Lambourn would likely be the chief hope of the Emerald Isle for Aidan O’Brien, along with Sandown Eclipse winner Delacroix, they head thirteen potential runners from across the Irish Sea. The best British hope comes in the form of Field Of Gold for the Gosden team. Bred by Juddmonte, the son of Kingman is already dual Group One winner this season and currently heads the betting.
Become the sixteenth colt to win Sky Bet Great Voltigeur and Betfred St Leger
Fifteen colts have done the double and this year’s list of entries provides plenty of hope that 2025 could see that number increase, following Continuous’s success in 2023. Merchant looks to be the leading hope after he won the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot, having won at York on his previous outing. Serious Contender chased home Lambourn in the Irish Derby after previously finishing just a length behind Merchant at Royal Ascot, he looks to be the current number one for Aidan O’Brien. Ralph Beckett could be well represented with the unbeaten Amiloc. He could well follow in the footsteps of 2020 winner Pyledriver, who won the King Edward VII Stakes before winning this Knavesmire contest.
21 Thursday
Things to do: Prove to be one of the best fillies in Europe
The last time the race went over to mainland Europe was in 2012, when Shareta scored for Alain de Roger-Dupre, this year Les Bleus could have Sunly, in the colours of powerhouse, Juddmonte. She may not be alone, with Aventure completing any potential French challenge for Christophe Ferland. Ballydoyle has had a strong grip on this race in recent years, winning four of the last five renewals. Minne Hauk will go in search of a third Group One after victories in the British and Irish Oaks. Tattersalls Musidora winner Whirl could also be a major player after finishing just a neck behind her stablemate at Epsom. In all, there are a eight entries from the Emerald Isle, including from Aidan’s son, Joseph and Paddy Twomey. Kalpana provides the chief home team challenge for Andrew Balding and is another representing Juddmonte. She’s already a Group One winner and any cut in the ground would surely increase her chances of the York race becoming a second. Her run in the King George this weekend may be informative.
Sky Bet Ebor Festival, we mark your calendar.
22 Friday
Things to do: Be the fastest
Emphatic Norfolk winner Charles Darwin could bid to become the first two-year-old since Kingsgate Native (2007) to win the Friday feature as well as the first for Aidan O’Brien since Mozart in 2001. Australian revelation Asfoora, may well attempt to go a few better than his fourth last year and could give Henry Dwyer a first winner on the Knavesmire. Commonwealth Cup winner Time For Sandals will bid to give trainer Harry Eustace another Group One, he may well be joined by Curragh Group Two winner, Arizona Blaze Who represents big spenders, Amo Racing.
Follow in the hooves of greats like Mill Reef or Rock of Gibraltar
23 Saturday
North Yorkshire could be well represented in the G2 Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Gimcrack Stakes, with impressive winner, Reciprocated, the pick of the entries for Karl Burke. He remains unbeaten in two starts and would likely take a lot of stopping. There could be a bit of American flare, with Outfielder holding an entry for Wesley Ward. He was an emphatic winner on his only start. Charlie Appleby has won two of the last ten renewals, so keep tabs on impressive Newbury winner Wise Approach.
Things to do: Earn a place in the folklore of the Knavesmire - you’ve got two shots this year!
That is the honour that awaits the victor of one of the toughest flat handicaps in the world and one of the richest in Europe, the £500,000 Sky Bet Ebor. The beauty of a handicap is that you can make a case for all twenty-two who finally make the stalls, never mind the full entry list. So, which to mention; Sky Bet Race To The Ebor winners seem a logical place to start. Tabletalk has gone up in the weights considerably since his win here last year. Jorvik winner Almosh’her will be hoping to bounce back from his Royal Ascot disappointment. Curragh victor Mr Percy is an interesting proposition, while recent John Smith’s Silver Cup winner Al Qareem may just be handicapped out of contention. Whoever wins, they can look forward to a warmer November than is on offer in Yorkshire, as the Sky Bet Ebor winner now has a guaranteed start in the Lexus Melbourne Cup. Folkore also awaits the first ever winner of the now Group One Sky Bet City Of York Stakes. Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes winner Lazzat makes plenty of appeal for Wathnan racing if stepping up in trip, while three time Group One winner Rosallion may well step down a furlong to run here. Charlie Maranoa, recently acquired by the Bond Thoroughbreds could make a homecoming raid after a second in Group One company in France. Hopefully the above sets the scene for a twenty eight race festival where £100,000 is the lowest prize fund and the richest maiden race in the land, the British Stallion Studs EBF Convivial Maiden Stakes, or the richest nursery handicap in the Sky Bet Stakes, add to the cocktail of high fashion and high class sport.

A handicap by conditions but valuable enough for high class horses that may also perform well at the higher level of races.
This time for 3yo+ horses, rated up to 105 (as for the Test cricketers, a century denotes class). The shorter distance of only six furlongs usually makes for a tight finish.
The Punters Panel at 12.45pm might offer some clues.

KNAVESMIRE TIP
An eyecatcher when narrowly denied at Newcastle on his first run in 311 days, POCKLINGTON is entitled to improve plenty for that effort and the son of Blue Point can strike for the first time on turf Alzahir had course winner Jubilee Walk (third) behind when scoring at Chester last month and the latter is taken to overturn that form with an 11lb pull at the weights. Aleezdancer and Elmonjed cannot be ruled out either

THE SKY BET YORK STAKES
It was in 2006, a year after we hosted Royal Ascot, that York Racecourse announced the birth of a new Group 2, the Sky Bet York Stakes, now the sporting centrepiece of Music Showcase Saturday.
It has, quite simply, gone from strength to strength since the three-year-old Best Alibi, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Ryan Moore, took the inaugural running, ahead of Hattan and Crocodile Dundee
The North needed a new, high summer middle distance Group race with the Scottish Derby disappearing from the programme We think that staging it here has worked on so many levels, not just the fact it is in the right place in the programme - as a “trial” for the big money Juddmonte International over course and distance, three and a half weeks later.
In fact, Twice Over, in the colours of the late Prince Khalid Abdullah, did that very double, in 2011.
Shadwell has historically been well represented in the race, winning it in 2013 with Mukhadram and in 2019 with Elarqam. Alflaila became the first to retain his crown for trainer Owen Burrows, making it a historic fourth win for the Shadwell team, however punters will need to look elsewhere this year
Twice Over
The 2019 renewal was certainly a memorable race when Elarqam kept the prize, for the only time so far, in Yorkshire for trainer Mark Johnston. The horse, who had won his Maiden on debut on the track proved far too good for the runner up that day - a certain Addeybb, now a multiple Group One winner from Berkshire to Australia.
If you need any more evidence in support of the Sky Bet York Stakes then just ask trainer David O’Meara, whose long-standing stable star, Lord Glitters, was third behind Aspetar, trained by Roger Charlton and ridden by Jason Watson. O’Meara’s Mondialiste, in the same ownership, finished second in both 2016 and 2017 White Rose hopes this year rest on Royal Champion for Middleham’s Karl Burke and Ecureuil Secret for Richard Fahey. And this is that rare UK pattern race in being one Aidan O’Brien has never won. Back in 2007, when amazingly the ground rode heavy, his Eagle Mountain finished second, but winning it has eluded him... so far. While there is no Ballydoyle runner, Jessie Harrington is represented by Green Impact, so there is a chance of an Emerald Isle winner

WHERE DOES IT FIT? SOUND FAMILIAR?
As both as a Group two and a mid summer affair, it can be a testing ground for thoroughbreds who might yet make the final step up to Group One company. Often they have looked impressive early in their careers and maybe suffered an injury or just lost their way a little. For others, it can mark a step out of handicap company before the glaring spotlight of Group One contests.
Like the feature race of the day down in Berkshire, it is a middle distance affair that lets the classic generation take on their elders. This year it falls to Stanhope Gardens, Bay City Roller and Green Impact to fly the flag for the classic generation.
HAVE ANY WINNERS GONE ON TO HIGHER GLORY?
Mukhadram went on to top-level success after winning here, the Coral-Eclipse his top-level breakthrough, while Sheikhzayedroad progressed to be a high-class stayer, winning the Group 1 Northern Dancer Stakes at Woodbine on his next start and taking Group 2 Doncaster Cup and British Champions Long Distance Cup success later on in his career. Plus the below dual success for the famous Pink & Green silks of Juddmonte Farms.
THE JUDDMONTE CONNECTION
A little out of the usual profile for this race, Twice Over is perhaps the most successful winner of the race - already a Group 1 Champion Stakes winner (twice) and Coral-Eclipse champion, the late Prince Khalid Abdullah’s brilliant colt won the Sky Bet York Stakes on the way to Juddmonte International glory for the sponsor the following month. In becoming the first thoroughbred owned by the big race sponsor to take the August Blue Riband, there is a backhanded compliment to today’s contest, as the ideal prep race Almaqam and Stanhope Gardens are already entered for the Longines Best Race in the World come August.
DOES AGE MATTER?
Given that 17 of the 19 winners have either been four, five or six-year-olds, then you have to say the answer is yes... to an extent.
The first winner, Best Alibi in 2006, is the only three-year-old to have won the race, while Tullius is the oldest winner of any Group 2, taking the 2015 renewal at the grand old age of seven.
Alflaila’s victory last year saw four-year-olds and five-year-olds tied once more, with six wins apiece from the 19 runnings. With no five year-olds and only two four-year-olds in this years field, only the latter age category can take the lead. Bay City Roller, Green Impact and Stanhope Gardens will all bid to become the first three-year-old in nineteen renewals to win the race. While Certain Lad could become the oldest to take the prize!

LEADING TRAINERS?
It’s been a pretty even spread across nigh on two decades of The Sky Bet York Stakes, as there are just four trainers have two wins to their name. Saeed bin Suroor, who saddled both the 2007 winner, Stage Gift, and Kirklees to win in 2009. Roger Charlton, who trained 2020 winner, Aspetar, and the 2016 champion, Time Test Andrew Balding, who joined them with Bangkok’s win in 2021 to go with Tullius victory in 2015. Last year Owen Burrows became the fourth, after Alflaila became the first to win the race twice. None of today’s trainers have tasted success in the race
LEADING RIDER?
Surprisingly, this race has not yet produced a dual winner from the saddle, but with the likes of Ryan Moore, Andrea Atzeni already on the roll of honour, it’s surely only a matter of time before one of these pilots takes their second Sky Bet York Stakes title Only Shane Foley can move to two winners this time, after he rode Success Days to victory back in 2017
HOW DO YORKSHIRE STABLES FIGURE?
WHO ARE THE SPONSORS?
Sky Bet is the UK’s most popular online bookmaker.
We’ve been making betting better for years.
We’re hugely passionate about sport which is why we sponsor the English Football League and have a longestablished partnership with York Racecourse, including being the founding and consistent sponsor of today’s big race
In truth, not superbly - but that’s certainly not to say there hasn’t been any success for the White Rose County. Skipton-born William Haggas saddled Mukhadram to a 2013 victory, while Middleham’s Mark Johnston trained Elarqam to 2019 success The White Rose is today represented by Karl Burke and Richard Fahey, Royal Champion and Ecureuil Secret fly their respective flags.

The Sky Bet York Stakes is part of the Pattern pyramid which denotes the best contests, Listed, Group 3, Group 2 (this race) and Group 1. This race is open to 3yo+ horses and is over a trip of ten furlongs.
Weight allowances are made for the variation in strength based on age or sex, see how all the 3yos Bay City Roller, Stanhope Gardens and Green Impact have a lesser burden. A further nuance is that any horse to already won at this level (or at the single step higher) would have had to carry additional (so called penalty) weight; however, this year, this doesn’t apply
An in-form stable could be the clue here, see the table at the beginning of this race and take a note as the winner may return for the Group One Juddmonte International on 20th August.

KNAVESMIRE TIP
ALMAQAM sets a lofty standard on form following a taking success in the Brigadier Gerard from Ombudsman, who went on to land the Prince Of Wales’s since. This ground looks ideal for Ed Walker’s star and he should have too much for Stanhope Gardens, who drops in trip having shown up well when fifth in the Derby. Runner-up in a Group 2 at Saint Cloud last month, Bay City Roller may also have a say.

COPPER KNIGHT: WINNING-MOST
EYES
ON OUR FOURTH
RACE
WHEN COPPER KNIGHT, HOPES TO RECORD WIN NUMBER EIGHT.
The Denham family first ran Copper Knight at York back in 2017 when he won the first of his seven races. It was an assertive performance over then stable mate Rasheeq and was very much a sign of things to come.
He had further success at York before taking his most prestigious prize at the track. The John Smith’s City Walls Stakes 2019, his first Listed success. His superb seventh victory came back in July.
A plaque has been erected in his honour on the pre-parade ring side of the weighing room, where it reads ‘winning most’, as he may well not be done with winning at York just yet! Last July Copper Knight made history by registering another win on the Knavesmire. He remains a stalwart of Tim Easterby’s operation, with a record breaking seven wins. Will Copper Knight continue to make history with an eighth win today on his 33rd run at York?

Race Type:
Prize Money: £25,000
Age: 4+

This special race is set over the same distance as the Group 1 Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe run at our Sky Bet Ebor Festival in August, just five furlongs. However, even though this is the shortest distance in racing, this isn’t what makes this special. All the horses today will be ridden by professional jump jockeys. Watch from the rails as these jockeys tackle the starting stalls then the flying five furlongs it could be as fast as they will go all year
Need some help? Look further for the letter “C”, which shows that the horse has won at York or “D” which denotes a win over this distance. See how Soul Seeker has both initials after his name having won this very race twice already

KNAVESMIRE TIP
Soul Seeker bids for a third victory in the contest following his 2021 and 2023 efforts. The return to the Knavesmire off a 3lb lower mark than his last success gives him every chance, but the vote goes to FORTUNATE STAR. A winner at Haydock before just being touched off a week later at Doncaster, the five-year-old can continue his good form. Others for the shortlist include Copper Knight and Bona Fortuna.

KNAVESMIRE TIP
L’Eagle Aid is looking for his hat-trick here after a neck win at Newcastle before dead-heating (awarded the race) at Chester, but he has 3lb more to carry now and steps up two classes. KILDARE LEGEND made all before being caught to go under by a neck at Haydock and although he also has an added 3lb, he drops a grade which may see him try the same tactics and go one better. Chillingham and Intinso are others to consider

KNAVESMIRE TIP
Cosmos Raj and Bellarchi are high on the shortlist after both won last time out, while Tele Red is a previous C&D winner with solid claims off 4lb below his last successful rating. However, there is also a lot to like about the credentials held by MUDAMER, who is handily drawn and notably had last year’s winner of this race (Theme Park) a couple of places behind when he finished third at Pontefract last week. Yaajooz and Siam Fox are also each-way options.

A final handicap to solve, this time limited to only 3yo’s travelling over seven furlongs.
“Offer a chance for everyone” is a good maxim for those planning races and in this contest the upper rating of 80 means that these are still quality horses but they won’t have their spotlight stolen by a real superstar Why not watch them in Parade Ring and see if you can find any clues.
If you’ve enjoyed the roller coaster of live sport then it’s time
Known in racing circles as ‘the get out stakes’ it can be crucial for your restaurant choice this evening, let’s hope its caviar and not cod roe!

KNAVESMIRE TIP
The flourishing KISSKODI has to be the starting point. After readily justifying favouritism in a 0-62 handicap at Brighton, the son of Kodi Bear was promoted from second to first following a trouble run at Leicester a fortnight later. The hat-trick was readily completed at Epsom most recently. Given his sire and dam were both 7f winners, stepping him up in trip to extend the wining run seems logical. Golden Redemption, Brave Byreflection and Lever Up could fight this out if another 6lb rise hinders the selection.
