We very much look forward to welcoming you and your horses to York Racecourse for our 2026 season.

The four day Sky Bet Ebor Festival is our flagship meeting and the focus of global racing in mid-August. We are delighted to confirm a record prize money fund approaching £7.5m across a 28 race programme. Our four Group 1 contests include the Juddmonte International, the Pertemps Yorkshire Oaks, the Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe and the Skybet City of York. This year we have a record prize fund for the Group 1 Juddmonte International of £1.5m. This was the Longines World’s Best Race in 2024, 2020 and 2014. We have been delighted to welcome international contenders in recent years, including Calandagan, Durezza, Danon Decile and 2025 Coolmore Nunthorpe winner Asfoora to take on the very best of Britain and Ireland.
We are proud of our international partnerships which link many of our feature races to global races in the latter part of the year and have a long and established history of seeing some of the best horses perform at York before going on to further success subsequently.
The York Race Committee, the York team and I very much look forward to making your visit to York as easy, enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Please contact York Chief Executive William Derby and his assistant Rachel Wigby, who will be happy to assist with arranging for you and your horses to visit York Racecourse. rachel.wigby@yorkracecourse.co.uk, +44 (0)1904 683 932

We host four Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series races; the Juddmonte International, Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks, Coolmore City Of Troy Nunthorpe and Tattersalls Acomb. These races will earn automatic starting berths, waivered entry fees and travel incentives into the corresponding race in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Keeneland on 30th - 31st October. Please contact Josh Christian on josh@breederscup.com or see breederscup.com for more details.
The fields in the Juddmonte International and the Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks demonstrate the global nature of top class flat racing competition. If the winners of these two contests go on to win or place in the corresponding race in Japan in November, the connections will qualify for a special bonus from the JRA. Please see japanracing.jp/en for more details.

The winner of the Sky Bet Ebor is Ballott Exempt for the Lexus Melbourne Cup at Flemington on Tuesday 3rd November. Please contact Leigh Jordon on l.jordon@vrc.net.au for more information.

The winners of the following Sky Bet sponsored races (Melrose 2025, Jorvik, Grand Cup and Premier Handicap at The Curragh on 3rd June) will be guaranteed a berth in the Sky Bet Ebor and their entry stake will be refunded should they run and be outside the first eight. Maranoa Charlie has recovered well from the trip, and we were truly honoured to be part of the City of York Stakes in its first year as a Group 1.
The atmosphere and support he received from the wonderful team at York made the day all the more memorable.

York Racecourse is one of the leading tracks in the world. The hospitality and facilities for both horses and humans are world class. The team at York could not have been more helpful on both occasions Asfoora ran in the Nunthorpe. Hopefully Asfoora will be able to retain her crown in August and if we are ever lucky enough to have another horse good enough to run at the SkyBet Ebor Festival, York will definitely be on the agenda.
