The Jockey Club would like to thank our Group Partners for their support in 2025

Welcome to Wincanton Racecourse, and thank you for joining us for our Christmas Jumper Raceday! We hope you’ve arrived in your finest festive knitwear — we’ll be awarding prizes for the best jumpers throughout the day.
A very warm Happy 80th Birthday to race sponsor John Stranger, and our sincere thanks to Priced Up for their generous sponsorship as well
We’re pleased to be joined today by Somerset Bowel Screening, who are here to provide information about bowel cancer and the screening process. You can find them in the Stalbridge Bar. Our Charity of the Year, Horatio’s Garden, is also on site with a wonderful selection of gifts available to purchase, perfect for all ages.
A huge thank-you to all owners for choosing to run your horses here today; we have some wonderfully competitive fields and are delighted to host you.
Looking ahead, our next meeting is the Boxing Day Fixture. Premier tickets have now sold out, but there is still limited availability in the Paddock Pavilion marquee for hospitality. Grandstand and Course Enclosure tickets can also be purchased online.
We wish you all a fantastic Christmas, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Wincanton Racecourse again very soon.
Blaithin Murphy. General Manager

Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race.
Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.

Matches are not usually particularly intriguing but this is an exception, with REGENT’S STROLL andJeriko du Reponet bothverytalented hurdlerswho are opento improvement inthis sphere. The former is preferred on the back of a highly promising chase debut third in the John Francome at Newburywhere his exuberance may have ultimately prevented him from justifying strong support. On that evidence the return of the hood will be a good thing.

PIPING ROCK knew his job when runner-up on debut in this sphere at Windsor and he is taken to go one betterhere. The 4-y-owill probablyhave mostto fearfrom Gatineau Park, who hitthe target at Lingfield last month and is open to progress. Khafre’s Rules debut at Cheltenham was certainly not devoid of promise and he is also shortlisted, along with Hold The Serve, who was well held in the same Cheltenham race but should leave that run well behind in time.

Many ifs and buts to ponder, with FLASH GORCOMBE earning the vote following much deliberation. The 8-y-o didn’t shape badly on his seasonal reappearance over this C&D and will have every chance provided that the word ‘soft’ appears in the going description. Noahsgreatrainbow showed something more akin to his useful bumper form over hurdles at Hereford last time and will be a major threat if his jumping passes the test on this chase debut. Ede’iffs Rock is best ofthe rest

BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards.
