HURDLE RACE (GRADE 2)

Founded in 1961, The Kingwell Hurdle is a Grade 2 Pattern Race traditionally held in high regard as a champion hurdle trial with a respected roll of honour, six horses have completed the Kingwell Hurdle and Champion Hurdle same year double
Notable years include Bula trained by Fred Winter winning the Kingwell Hurdle three times including the Champion Hurdle in 1971 and 1972 Lanzarote won the Kingwell Hurdle three years running in 1974, 1975 and 1976, including winning the champion hurdle in 1974 Dessert Orchid won the Kingwell Hurdle in 1984 before his illustrious chasing career began. Katchit won the 2008 Kingwell Hurdle and Champion Hurdle as a five year old. More recently Goshen has thrilled the racing public with wins in the 2021 and 2022 renewals.
