PARADE OF CHAMPIONS Wincanton Racecourse are delighted to host three members of racing royalty here today for a parade of champions. Frodon (FR) Nine-year-old bay gelding Winner of 18 races from 41 runs The combination of Frodon and Bryony Frost has not gone unnoticed over the last two years, and the pair have enjoyed victories in some impressive races; most recently, last weekend for the Champion Chase at Down Royal. The pair came out on top of a small but classy field of five ahead of the Gordon Elliott trained Galvin. Additionally, they saw off the Gold Cup winner Minella Indo, ridden by Cheltenham Festival hero Rachael Blackmore, and Jack Kennedy aboard Delta Work into third and fourth. There’s no doubt that the pair of them are a match made in heaven, especially following Frost’s victory in the King George VI Chase at Kempton last year.
Clan Des Obeaux (FR) Nine-year-old bay gelding Winner of 10 wins from 27 runs Also featuring in the parade today is another Nicholls runner; this time in the form of nine-year-old Clan Des Obeaux. Jointly owned by some of the most iconic figures in racing (Mr & Mrs Barber, Sir Alex Ferguson and Mr Ged Mason), this smart chaser has enjoyed several victories. These include two from earlier in the year at Punchestown and, very impressively, in the Betway Bowl at Aintree- winning by twenty-six lengths from Clondaw Castle. There’s no reason to say why he should not continue his winning streak as we head back into Jumps territory this year.
Cue Card (GB) Fifteen-year-old bay gelding Winner of 16 wins from 41 runs The final of the three needs no introduction to National Hunt fans, just two words: Cue Card. With nine Grade I races to his name, the Colin Tizzard trained chaser enjoyed a succession of excellent victories, including the Betfair chase three times, the King George VI Chase and two Cheltenham Festival wins. He came dangerously close to emulating Kauto Star, but was pulled up in his third and final race, the Cheltenham Gold Cup; an action that ultimately sealed his fate. Nonetheless, he won an incredible £1.4M in prize money and has undoubtedly secured himself a valuable place in the hearts of National Hunt fans across the country.
Racing Dreams An exciting new opportunity to get involved in racehorse ownership with a talented young gelding who will provide great fun on and off the course. • • • •
No extra costs involved. Includes a share of the prize-money. Limited to 20 members. Join today for £400 then £100 per month (+ VAT). Fenrir Binding (GB) 2015 bay gelding by Norse Dancer (Ire) ex Bethany Lewis (GB) (Sir Harry Lewis (USA))

Paul Nicholls has saddled five of the last seven winners of this race and KNAPPERS HILL is likely to enhance that record. PLAY SMARTER
A winner of a C&D mares’ novice back in February, ROSE OF ARCADIA noticeably travelled well without seeing her race out with any great conviction when fifth in a competitive handicap at Newbury back in the spring. However, a well-related mare, she remains one to be positive about and could be the answer to this tricky puzzle. Kissesforkatie and Emmpressive Lady are others fancied to feature.

PLAY SMARTER
CAP DU NORD came of age over fences last season, winning a valuable handicap at Newbury on his second start before a series of fine runs in defeat in other good races. Last month’s spin at Chepstow should have blown the cobwebs away and a big effort could be forthcoming with his usual cheekpieces back on. Highland Hunter is a huge player for Paul Nicholls, as is last year’s winner El Presente.

PLAY SMARTER
Despite some appealing newcomers, this is likely to be fought out by the Irish recruits SHALLOW RIVER and Thelasthighking, who bring a good standard of form to the table with the potential to do better. The-first named is marginally preferred and, of the remainder, Fame And Fun looks the most appealing based on pedigree/connections.

Thereafter no refunds will be made. Applications must be made in writing to the Racecourse Office within 14 days of the race meeting and must be accompanied by the paper admission ticket. If racing is abandoned prior to the raceday, or before gates open, all pre-booked tickets that have been paid for in advance will automatically be refunded in full.
Whilst we always endeavour to take appropriate steps to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is, therefore, important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. We employ Safety Officials whose job it is to ensure your safety. In the event of a situation which requires a partial or full evacuation of the Stands, announcements will be broadcast and the Officials will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your belongings with you and proceed out of the enclosure quickly and quietly under their guidance. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. It may give you peace of mind if you pre-plan and agree a meeting place with your party, just in case you become separated. If we are unable to re-occupy the Stands for any reason, you will be advised immediately, and, if it is considered safe to do so, you will be invited to return to your car or coach. These are precautionary arrangements which we trust will not be required. However, in the event of an emergency please remember; Take your belongings with you and under direction of the officials proceed quickly and quietly to the safe area then to your agreed rendezvous point or to your car or coach.
Alcohol Please would racegoers kindly note that the bringing of your own alcoholic drink into the Racecourse is strictly prohibited. For your own enjoyment of racing at Wincanton and to avoid disappointment please observe this restriction.

The emergency exits from the bars onto the grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would request that you do not stop whilst in this area. We would also request that only those that are disabled use the disabled viewing ramp and that parents keep a close eye on all children and prevent them from climbing the running rails and getting on to the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the first aid room is located adjacent to the weighing room.
Racehorse & Jockey Welfare
Photography
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Wincanton Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey. If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
Racegoers may take photographs for private use within the areas normally open to the public. Flash photography is not permitted.
Prize Money The Horserace Betting Levy Board general prize money schemes provide for the inclusion of £483,400 at this Racecourse until 31st December 2020.
In-Running Betting Please note that in-running betting is not allowed in any public areas of Wincanton Racecourse. As expressly permitted by the Wincanton Racecourse Special Conditions, attendees may not use mobile telephones, laptop computers or any other communications device whilst on the Racecourse to communicate with anyone outside the Racecourse for the purpose of or in connection with any betting. Any racegoer found to be in breach of this rule will be removed from the Racecourse.
Gambling It is illegal for persons under the age of 18 to bet on the horses. gambleaware.co.uk
Crossing the Course The centre of the course viewing is available to all Premier enclosure ticket holders. Please note you must stay within the designated area and access will not be allowed from the time horses are on the course until all horses have left the course. The only exception to this will be for owners and trainers with runners on the day and racecourse officials.
