TIMEFORM VIEW Winner at Sedgefield in February and coped well with the greater emphasis on stamina when notching second victory of 2025 at Cartmel (2 3/4m, heavy) during the summer Probably needed the run back from 4 months off at Hexham recently, but it could be that this mark is beyond his reach in any case. TIMEFORM VIEW Off for nearly 2 years prior to last term, but made the frame on 3 of his 4 starts and again proved that the fire still burns bright when third of 12 on recent return at Hexham (2 1/2m, good to soft), which was his first run following a wind op. Sole career win came over this C&D and he’s a key player TFRHHHHI BHA104

TIMEFORM VIEW Much improved for step up to 3m when making a successful handicap debut/reappearance at Ayr (soft) at the beginning of this month. 5lb rise by no means the end of the world, especially since he’s unexposed and really should have more to offer. TFRHHHHH BHA99 (+2)

TIMEFORM VIEW Much improved for a switch to handicaps over a longer trip when opening his account upped to 19.7f here (heavy) in February Excuses since (ground too lively on return here last month and probably needed the run anyway), but Buzz Iceclear is presumably the stable first-string. Br B m Shirocco (GER) - Lissard Lady (IRE) Ryan Mania J

O Mrs Jayne Sivills Adam Nicol, Seahouses T B Eamon O’Neill

TIMEFORM VIEW Placed in an Irish point and signed off last term with her best effort yet, finishing second in 7-runner handicap over this C&D First run since undergoing a wind op when running below-par in the Ayr handicap won by Buzz Iceclear and will need to leave that well behind if she’s to play a part in this. TIMEFORM VIEW Long-standing maiden who returned to his best when runner-up at Cartmel in May Below that level when sixth of 8 on return from a break at Hexham (23.3f, heavy), but he’s on a workable mark and this run should be more revealing. TFRHHHII BHA90

Br B g Elusive Pimpernel (USA) - Gaye Annie (IRE) Ross Chapman J

O Miss Maria D Myco & John Johnson Rebecca Menzies, Sedgefield T

B Mrs Stephanie Metcalfe Bluegrass Horse Feeds S

TIMEFORM VIEW Winless following 9 runs over hurdles, but has acquitted himself pretty well all 3 starts since joining present yard, particularly so when a close third at Southwell (20.4f, soft) 12 days ago. On that evidenc the return to this trip will be no bad thing and he’s not without each-way hope.

TIMEFORM VIEW Bagged a handicap chase off a 4lb lower mark at Catterick during the 2024 Christmas period, but the evidence available suggests that he’s not as good in this sphere (unplaced from 4 starts over hurdles). TFRHIIII BHA97 (-1)

Br B m Sageburg (IRE) - Arts Theater (IRE) Peter Kavanagh J

TIMEFORM VIEW Won 3 handicap hurdles (up to 25.3f) on deep ground in 2024 and ran right up to her best returned to this sphere when fourth in a 12-runner handicap at Uttoxeter on final start last season. Not at her best on recent return at Newcastle, but should be sharper now and further rain would aid her cause. TFRHHHII BHA96

TIMEFORM VIEW Off thew mark in maiden points at the fifth attempt last spring. Initial efforts under Rules were low-key and while he’s shown more spark in handicaps at around 2 1/2m the last twice, more will be needed now faced with a stiffer test if she’s to open his account in this sphere. THE TIMEFORM VIEW Unexposed and armed with clear potential as a stayer, BUZZ ICECLEAR is taken to make it 2-2 in handicaps/over this trip following his game reappearance success at Ayr. Piaff Bubbles shaped well on his reappearance and he looks the pick of the Rebecca Menzies-trained trio and the main danger to the selection. It’s Maisy is better than she showed on her reappearance and should make her presence felt, too

TIMEFORM VIEW Found some improvement fitted with hood when making all in 2m Ayr handicap hurdle in the mud in January Promising start over fences there the following month (also performed well back hurdling at Hexham when last seen in March; since undergone a wind op) and may well build on that here. TFRHHHII BHA112

TIMEFORM VIEW From a good jumping family and showed ability in 3 runs over hurdles last season. Ultimately well held sent chasing when returning to action at Worcester, but that run was probably needed and, in good hands, this 5-y-o should do better at some point soon. TFRHHHII BHA110

TIMEFORM VIEW Four-time Flat winner for Michael Bell in 2024 and successful start over hurdles for this yard in a juvenile race at Chepstow last October Solid placed efforts in handicaps on final 2 starts of last season and could have a part to play if his jumping passes the test now switched to fences. Stewards Note: HORS JEU: Following its run on 10/3/2025 it was reported that the horse hung left-handed.

PROBABLE S.P.’s 5-4 Spadestep (IRE), 9-2 Quantock Hills (FR), 8-1 Rock On Jet (IRE), 10-1 My Noble Lord (USA), 12-1 Wotter Trotter (IRE), 22-1 Throatlash (IRE), 28-1 Great Pepper (FR), 33-1 Joecooker (FR), 40-1 Hors Jeu (FR), 50-1 Galidam (FR)

THE TIMEFORM VIEW There was plenty of promise in SPADESTEP’s Aintree chase debut second and he should prove hard to beat, especially given that it’s reasonable to anticipate improvement with that run under his belt. Quantock Hills has a handy 4-y-o allowance and is also likely to step up on what he showed first time out over fences, while Rock On Jet is a live each-way candidate, along with chase debutant My Noble Lord. Throatlash and Wotter Trotter both possess some potential for the medium-to-long-term.

TIMEFORM VIEW £70,000 buy after winning on the last of her 3 starts in points, but she has struggled in a bumper at Hexham and Newbury novice hurdle (both at around 2m). TIMEFORM VIEW Winner of the first of her 2 starts in Irish points and hurdles debut fifth in a 14-runner Hexham novice (16.2f, good to soft) was certainly not devoid of promise. TIMEFORM VIEW Made it third time lucky in points in April and showed significantly more ability than on previous starts under Rules when runner-up at Hexham (16.2f, soft) last month. TIMEFORM VIEW Bumper winner for Paul Nolan in Ireland and the second of her 3 runs over hurdles, when fourth of 14 at Wexford (2m, good to soft) in March, is just about the best form on offer here. Stretched by the 20.7f trip at the same course next time and she’s of interest back at 2m on debut for new yard. TFRHHHII BHA119

2024: LET IT RAIN 5 11 0 Harry Skelton 2-9 (Dan Skelton) 8 ran Hood worn first time by No. 1, 2. Tongue Strap worn first time by No. 6.

Stewards Note: ANARIZA: Following its run on 17/4/2025 it was reported that the horse ran too free.

PROBABLE S.P.’s 5-2 Ufouria (IRE), 3-1 Moonlightinthepark (IRE), 10-3 Azahara Palace (GB), 9-2 Anariza (FR), 25-1 Mornington Beach (IRE), 33-1 Mad Mag (IRE), 40-1 Delta Blues Belle (IRE)

THE TIMEFORM VIEW Hurdles debutantes MOONLIGHTINTHEPARK and Azahara Palace are both appealing based on their exploits in different spheres. The latter was a winner of five of her 22 starts on the Flat and is just the type that her new yard excels with. However preference is for Moonlightinthepark, who was beaten by a potentially very useful filly in The Flaggy Shore (easy winner of a Warwick bumper last week) on her sole start between the flags. Irish import Ufouria is third choice ahead of Anariza.
