TIMEFORM VIEW Second at Newton Abbot in June and, though disappointing there next time (ridden too aggressively), he got firmly back on track when making all twice in recent weeks. Hit with 11lb rise but he’s thriving.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW A hefty rise in the weights forces MAGISTRATO into a better band of handicap but this uncomplicated and thriving 7-y-o has just 2 rivals to boss and he could take a bit of stopping if getting into his usual rhythm. Mahons Glory may offer most resistance.
A First Aid team attend all of our racedays. In a medical emergency, please contact a Steward who can bring the First Aiders to you. For non-emergency treatment there is a designated First Aid Point within the Paddock Enclosure.
at Wetherby Racecourse we are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries, and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care. At every meeting we have three specially qualified Equine Vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. There is also a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary Officer in attendance. During the race, three vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating the injured jockeys. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected round the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.

BOBBY RENTON
The late Bobby Renton trained many winners from his base at Oxclose, near Ripon, including the 1950 Grand National winner, Freebooter.
He also trained Red Rum before he became a household name.
His long and distinguished training career lasted for some 50 years. He occasionally rode his own horses as an amateur rider, and he was a sprightly 75 years old when riding in his last race - a selling hurdle at Hexham on September 30th, 1963 He finished unplaced on Devon Peter, thereby being acknowledged as Britain’s oldest jockey!
