THE TIMEFORM VIEW THE FOUR SIXES turned over a new leaf dropped back in trip during the spring, registering facile victories in handicap hurdles at Bangor/Ayr and well worth another chance back over the larger obstacles, he shades the vote over Fergal O’Brien’s Sixmilebridge who quickly made up into a useful novice over hurdles last season, and very much appeals as the type to make his mark in this discipline.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW This looks an excellent opportunity for BLUE CARPET, who shaped promisingly without being given a hard time on return/hurdles debut at Chepstow (2m) 21 days ago and there’s surely a good deal more to come from Dan Skelton’s charge on that evidence. Fellow bumper winner Ballylicky Bay may emerge as the chief danger in receipt of weight all round.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW Though THISTLE ASK would arguably be most at home on a sharp, right-handed track, he did the job well enough going this way round at Kelso six days ago to suggest that he will maintain his 100% record for the Dan Skelton yard under a penalty here (officially 2lb ‘well-in’). Indeed, this 8-y-o is unexposed over fences and should have more to offer. Homme Public has a pretty good record when fresh and gets the nod ahead of the in-form Magistrato for forecast purposes.
