Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

FARMING CHARITIES ON COURSE TODAY

The Farming Community Network (FCN) is a UK-wide voluntary organisation and charity working to improve the health and wellbeing of people in farming and ‘walk with’ people at times of difficulty and change.

FCN has a wide network of volunteers, many of whom are involved in farming, or have close links with agriculture and therefore have a great understanding ofthe issues farm workers and farming families regularly face. FCN volunteers provide free and confidential support to anyone who seeks help, regardless of whether the issue is personal or business-related.

Each year FCN helps approximately 12,500 people and supports with a variety of issues, including financial difficulties, animal disease, mental ill-health and family disputes.

In addition to local groups of volunteers, FCN runs a confidential national helpline (03000 111 999, open 7am-11pm every day of the year) and e-helpline (help@fcn.org.uk).

FCN also operates the FarmWell platform - a one-stop shop for information to support your farm business and develop personal resilience. Through FarmWell campaigns, initiatives, community events and research, FCN is taking a proactive and preventative approach to supporting farmers’ health and wellbeing.

Addington Fund is a dedicated farming charity working to support farmers and rural communities across England and Wales. Providing practical, compassionate assistance tothosefacinghardshipordisruption within the farming sector in three unique ways:

Housing: Farmers and farm workers often face an uncertain future when they are forced to leave their homes due to ill health, retirement, or the nonviability of their farms, especially when farming is all they have ever known. Addington supports them by finding safe, suitable homes close to family and friends. The charity currently has 63 properties, including some shared equity homes, all rented at affordable rates.

Emergency Relief: Their Forage Aid arm has supported over 25,000 beneficiaries with grants totalling £12m. Offering timely grants and practical assistance to help safeguard livestock, maintain business continuity and support farmer wellbeing in time of crisis.

New Entrant Scheme: To encourage and enable the next generation. Offering small grants of up to £3000 to new entrants, focussing on healthy farms, healthy livestock and healthy farmers. The charity is establishing a network of starter farms, giving a first step onto the farming ladder. Addington Fund plays a vital role in strengthening resilience, stability and opportunity within rural communities. It remains firmly committed to supporting farming families and sustaining our rural communities.

Established in 2003 by farmers for farmers, Warwickshire Rural Hub helps its members to create healthy businesses in a healthy landscape. Membership is free of charge - visit our website www.ruralhub.org.uk to apply to join. Membership is aimed at farmers, rural business owners, stakeholders and people interested in rural issues.

There are three strands to our work. We:

• signpost our members to the latest news from the rural sector and organise topical 2-hour events that promote peer to peer learning with plenty of time for networking;

• organise health and welfare events for farmers at Rugby Livestock Mart cafe, bringing the health professionals to the farmers;

• run three sustainable farming groups, helping members to access funding to engage in landscape scale conservation projects. Partnership working is integral to all our activities, allowing us to share experiences with rural delivery networks across the county Please help support future farmer health and welfare events by donating to the exit collection.

RABI continues to work tirelessly to uplift and support farming people through practical, financial, and emotional assistance, touching the lives of thousands of people every year We offer one-to-one, expert support, advice and guidance, tailored to every unique circumstance. Our 24/7 freephone helpline 0800 188 4444 ensures we are available at any time of the day or year to give farming people the right type of support.

Plenty in with chances but the vote goes to THANKYOURLUCKYSTAR, who bolted up under this rider at Worcester when last seen in May and an 11lb rise may not prove enough to prevent him from going in again on return Getaway Theatre relished the return to hurdles when scoring back in the spring, so Stuart Edmunds’ mare heads up the opposition, with Murphy’s Milan and Catch Catchfire both considered, too.
