GREAT BRITISH BONUS

The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards with breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out bonuses of up to £100,000 per filly. And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British. Majority funded by the HBLB

Race Description This is a five furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

A cracking Lockinge. Although ROSALLION’s 3-y-o campaign was curtailed by a respiratory infection it means last year’s Irish 2000 Guineas and St James’s Palace hero returns with relatively few miles on the clock and he can put down an early marker in this division and prove too strong for last year’s 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech. On more favourable terms, Tamfana can turn around last month’s Sandown Mile form with Dancing Gemini and prove best of the rest

BETTING WITH BOOKMAKERS

Customers of the bookmakers should check their itemised tickets upon receipt as mistakes cannot be rectified after the “off”. Customers are reminded to retain all betting tickets until after “Weighed-in” has been announced, as payment will only be made on production of the original ticket. Bookmakers are not obliged to pay out until ‘Weighed in’ is announced, nor to remain on the course more than five minutes after that announcement. Tickets remain valid for one month.

Race Description Some races can often prove very popular with owners and trainers and as a result more horses are declared to run than the official safety limit allows for To avoid horses being denied a run which is obviously disappointing for connections, the British Horseracing Authority has allowed the previous race to be split into two divisions, with each contest carrying identical race conditions

CURIOUS ROVER: Following its run on 2/5/2025 it was reported that the trainer could not explain the poor run.

Probable S.P’s: 3-1 Muker (IRE), 4-1 Albegone (GB), 11-2 Castan (GB), 13-2 Curious Rover (IRE), 10-1 Stash The Cash (IRE), 14-1 Burning Cash (IRE), 16-1 Changeofmind (IRE), 20-1 Digital (IRE), 22-1 Ready Freddie Go (IRE)

ALBEGONE caught the eye finishing hot on the heels of the reopposing Muker over C&D a fortnight ago and is fancied to reverse the form and come out on top now that he is slightly better off at the weights. Muker should give another good account, with Curious Rover better judged on his reappearance form having not been seen to best effect racing wide at Musselburgh on his most recent outing.

Race Description This is a one mile and four furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds which have been rated from 61 to 80. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 80 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 75.

Race Description This is a seven furlongs and 218 yards handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 71 to 90. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb

Weights, Pedigrees, Trainers’ Names, Descriptions, Performances and Values of Races have been added for the convenience of the Public, but are subject to alteration.

All horses must parade in the Parade Ring except by permission of the Stewards, but in all cases must pass through the Ring on the way to the Post.

Broken glasses and bottles are dangerous. In the interests of safety and the comfort of others please do not carry drinks on to the steppings of the stand, or the areas adjacent to the parade ring or unsaddling enclosure.

Race Description This is a seven furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 71 to 90. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage

ORBAAN’s overall strike rate tempers enthusiasm to a degree but he made more impact than previously this year from his sliding mark when second at Epsom 25 days ago. Eased further in class with cheekpieces refitted, he shades the vote to come out on top. Mount King and Capital Guarantee head up the dangers, with Infinity Blue another to note.

Race Description This is a six furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60.
