Race previews from Weatherbys

The seven furlong Weatherbys ePassport Handicap has been split into two divisions, with nine runners in each. The weights for division one are headed by the Ian Williams-trained Book Of Life who continues to fall in the ratings, having initially been rated 88 when arriving from France. The grey also drops in class.

The veteran Langholm is the sole course winner in the field and was beaten by a neck here last week when finishing just in front of Masterclass Thepairre-opposeandrunoffthesamemarksso are of obvious interest

Arguably of most interest, however, are the lasttime-out winning three-year-olds, Savvy Warrior and Georgie Wooster, with both being in receipt ofan8lbsage-allowance.Theformerappreciated coming back to this trip when coming from off the pace to win at Wetherby (now 4lbs higher), whilst Georgie Wooster is now 9lbs higher than when winning with plenty in hand at Redcar. That form has worked out extremely well with the second (twice), third and fourth all having won since.

Gemma Tutty’s Patontheback was in fine form through June, winning at Catterick and Musselburgh before finishing runner-up at Beverley, and the six-year-old shoulders topweight in division two.

King’s Crown has only won once in 21 starts but that success came here and Michael Dods’ fouryear-old is the only course winner in the field.

Sunny Orange is another who has been consistent of late, whilst there are another trio

of three-year-olds in this division, with recent Brighton winner Arnaz the one who stands out. He emerged from out of the gloom to win in late-May, although he did fail to back that up at Haydock a month ago.

King’s Crown is the only course winner in the second division ﬁeld.
