Race Description Our opener is a ﬁve furlongs apprentice jockeys handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 60. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their ofﬁcial handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

A decent race of its type, with several arriving in peak form. LATIN FIVE looks primed to strike for the ﬁrst time in over a year after several promising recent efforts, travelling best when beaten by a better-placed rival at Beverley last time. Mehmo is effectively able to race from the same mark as when scoring on the same card as Latin Five last week and merits plenty of respect again, whilst Foreseeable Future was narrowly denied at Yarmouth on his previous outing and can’t be ruled out.
