Finally, Duncan’s family would like to say a huge thank you to Iain Moffat & Tommy Honeyman for their support in making this event happen.

We are very proud to be able to have a race named in memory of Duncan at Stratford today. Duncan sadly passed away on Christmas Day 2021. A dearly loved Dad, Father-in-Law, and Grandad and a great friend to so many people in his home town of Corby. Horse racing played a huge part in Duncan’s life primarily anything ridden by Willie Carson or trained by Tim Easterby. Together with a small group of friends he was able to visit every racecourse in the UK as well as a number in Ireland and further afield in Europe. He was also part of a syndicate who owned a number of horses over the years mainly running in Point to Points but did also include a runner in a Hunters Chase at this very track, finishing 3rd. He was never happier than when spending a day at the races having a pint and a punt. Today, a coach load of his family and close friends will be celebrating his life, enjoying a day at the races, raising a glass in his memory and hopefully topping it off with a winner or two!

A very much missed husband to Marian, father, grampy and friend to many, who was sadly taken from us in February 2014. Andy spent many happy hours working as a Jockeys Valet and enjoyed racing.

As a tribute to keep his memory alive, his family and friends have rallied round to sponsor this race and many are here today to remember him with much love and affection and enjoy a day at the races.
