SATURDAY 9 NOVEMBER 2024

NEW TO RACING RACECARD

WELCOME

Horseracing is a wonderful sport. For many people, however, it can be difficult to engage with, especially those of us that are new to the sport. This New To Racing Racecard is aimed as an introduction to the sport to help you feel welcome and informed, wherever you are in your introductory journey to the horseracing.

The aim is to help you begin your journey, for those new to or unfamiliar with horseracing and “form” – or put more simply, a horse’s race record. Typically, this is denoted by various figures and comments next to its name in a racecard, whereas in this New To Racing Racecard we have simplified all of that for you. Our aim is to allow even the absolute novice to feel that they have made an informed decision as to why Horse A might beat Horse B – and of course, if you win, you can feel the thrill of a win! The New To Racing Racecard has been built by racing fans for new racing fans. Initiated by Timeform, the project now forms part of the sports fan engagement strategy to welcome newcomers to racing and is supported financially by the Horserace Betting Levy Board, in addition to the help of project partners including Britbet/TOTE, the Racecourse Association, Weatherbys and Great British Racing.

We are keen to understand your feedback on this and you may be approached by our Field Research Team during the course of the day to answer a short series of questions for which you will be offered a £5 food and beverage voucher to be redeemed on the day as a thank you for your time. Our Field Research Team work for Rigour Research and will be carrying Rigour Research ID, which contains their name, plus the company name and logo.

Thank you for your support and participation in shaping the future of fan engagement in racing.

Have a fabulous race day!
