Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

2025:NO CORRESPONDING RACE LASTYEAR

Tongue Strap worn first time by No 4. Running for the first time since Gelding No 7. Stewards Note: THE LOST SOCK: Following its run on 18/4/2026 it was reported that the horse suffered interference.

Probable S.P’s: 7-2 Akirra (IRE), 11-2 Our Cody (IRE), 6-1 The Lost Sock (IRE), 13-2 Gouken (FR), 15-2 Major Neigh Sayer (IRE), 8-1 Kolkata Knight (IRE), 10-1 Killavia (GB), 16-1 Havana Smile (GB)

A few of these are worth another chance, notably AKIRRA, who’s potentially on a good mark on the pick of his 2-y-o form. Kolkata Knight was poorly drawn at Chester last time and had pushed a subsequent winner close on his return, so rates the main threat ahead of The Lost Sock, who was hampered at Thirsk 6 weeks ago

PLAY SMARTER

FURTHUR was smart as a 3-y-o and could prove a force in cup races this year given how he shaped on his comeback at York. The consistent Sweet William is an obvious threat having defied a penalty in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot on his reappearance, while Lazy Griff is a very interesting contender stepping up in distance on his belated return.

YAZIN scored decisively from a good prospect at Southwell on his return and he can continue his progress to take this step up in grade in his stride Talk of New York is much respected, though, representing Charlie Appleby who won this race last year with one who has gone on to success at the highest level, while the unbeaten Nation’s Hope is another to note

PLAY SMARTER

Yet to finish out of the first 2, OMBUDSMAN reappeared with a third Group 1 success of his career at Meydan in March and he can make amends for his defeat in this race last year when beaten only by recent top-level scorer Almaqam. The main danger could be Gethin, who was a decisive winner at listed level on his return, ahead of Almeric.

DECLARED RUNNERS 7 2025: HAFEETALAIN (IRE) 9 9 4 Jack Doughty 12-1 (Ed Walker) 12 ran Blinkers worn by No 1.

Stewards Note: HICKORY: Following its run on 9/5/2026 it was reported that the horse was denied a clear run 2f out.

It’s hard to get away from RAAMMEE, who looked potentially smart when winning a couple of all-weather novices last summer and Roger Varian’s 4-y-o can pick up from where he left off on handicap/turf debut. The obvious danger looks to be Saytarr, who has proved a revelation since joining James Horton and has Daniel Muscutt back on board (3-3 under that rider). Cogitate looks best of the rest.
