Sandown Park are once again offering racegoers the chance to contribute gifts for children and families supported by our local community partner, Lower Green Community Centre, as part of our ever-popular Tingle Creek Gifting Scheme.
The Centre is situated just shy of 2 miles from Sandown Park Racecourse and is dedicated to supporting the local community, especially children and families. The Centre serves not only as a community support hub but operates a Community Café, a Community Fridge, Foodstore and hosts various activities on site throughout the year.
Introduced three years ago, the Gifting Scheme has received overwhelming support from generous visitors to the racecourse throughout the Betfair Tingle Creek Festival. Racegoers are encouraged to bring gifts which will be distributed throughout the local community this Christmas, turning another challenging year into a memorable one.
Items such as arts and crafts activities, construction toys (Lego, Duplo etc), warm hats, gloves, socks, etc. for all ages including adults, children’s, teenager and adult toiletry gift sets, small stocking fillers for all, and seasonal sweet and savoury treats
Jenny French, Lower Green Community Centre Community Projects Manager, said: “We are very grateful to Sandown Park for running this scheme to support local families for whom Christmas can be a challenging time of year. By donating gifts and gift cards racegoers can help us bring some Christmas cheer to lots of families in Lower Green this Christmas. A huge thank you to everyone involved.”
Donation points are available at the arrival desk in the main foyer of the Grandstand as well as in reception areas of local business, Keltbray, enabling racegoers and residents to contribute their gifts upon arrival or in the week afterwards.
If you’d like to donate a gift after your visit with us today, we will still be accepting donations until Wednesday 10th December in our Main Foyer.

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

Coup de Coeur struck twice over fences last season and should be sharper for his recent return at Kelso, while Krak, a lightly-raced winner over hurdles, rates an interesting newcomer to the larger obstacles.

SMARTER
There shouldn’t be much between HIDDEN HISTORY and Champagne Twist, with the latter meeting Dan Skelton’s charge on 2lb betterterms comparedto whenthirdtothat rival (beatentwo lengths) atAintree wheretheywerebothmakingtheirchasedebuts.ChampagneTwist’sfinesthouroverhurdlescameatthis course and he is greatly respected, but Hidden History is proving most progressive forthis yard and he is taken to strike again. Kelce and chase debutant TommyThe Tank are others with claims.

Lots with chances but Jamie Snowden’s MARCHE D’ALIGRE rates just the pick of the weights on the back of a resurgent Wetherby second and hails from a yard in fine form so edges the vote Excellent Huntingdon second Caelan heads the list of dangers, although Across Earth, Ocean Conquest and Fight My Fire all warrant plenty of respect too. Courageous Strike completes the shortlist.
