Aquick wayto see a horse’s past performance. These are its recent finishing positions.
Look out for Letters:
C = Has won at this course
D = Has won over this distance
CD = Has won over this distance at this course
BF = Was a beaten favourite
- = New racing season

S = Horse slipped
r = The horse ran around a jump or took the wrong course in a flat race
d = Disqualified
Bold form
figures = performance in all-weather (Flat) or Point-to-Point (Jump) races
How the experts rate the horse’s chances:
2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse.
3. Timeform view and TFR rating
Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race
Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.
6. Owner’s colours worn by the Jockey
7. Saddlecloth number
8. Horse’s name
9. Days since the horse last run
10. Horse’s age
11. Jockey’s weight (stone and lbs)
12. The horse’s breeding – father (sire) and mother (dam)
13. Horse’s owner
14. Horse’s breeder
15. Birthplace of horse
16. Draw – position of the horse in the starting stalls
17. Sponsor (if applicable)
Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

Stewards Note:
ENTHRALLMENT: Following its run on 10/7/2024 it was reported that the horse hung left-handed throughout.
Probable S.P’s: 11-2 Mr Freedom (GB), 6-1 Robusto (IRE), 13-2 Whispering Royal (IRE), 8-1 Naasma (IRE), 11-1 Crescent Lake (GB), 12-1 Enthrallment (IRE), Clan Chieftain (GB), 20-1 Hurtle Wallop (GB), Damascus Steel (IRE), 22-1 Enochdhu (FR), 25-1 C’Mon Kenny (GB), Teqany (IRE), 33-1 Jaramillo (GB), 50-1 Militry Decoration (IRE)
MR FREEDOM has been a splendid servant to connections and, fit from a recent spin over hurdles, he seems very likely to give another good account of himself in a staying handicap on the level. Robusto has a lower turf mark to exploit and his recent AW win confirms he’s back in good order, with the likeable Naasma completing the shortlist. TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.MR FREEDOM

PLAY SMARTER
LOVE DE VEGA proved at least as good as ever when making his first start at 1m a winning one at Pontefract last week and, the manner in which he quickened clear suggests a 5lb penalty may not be enough to prevent another bold showing. War Chant is another in-form sort and is feared, with Indemnity and Whitcombe Rockstar others to consider

Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment.
