‘To win’ is for your horse to come first. ‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

DECLARED RUNNERS 14 2023: GAVI DI GAVI (IRE) 8 9 6 Miss Georgia King 14-1 (Alan King) 11 ran Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn first time by No 3, 4. Blinkers worn by No 9. Visor worn by No 13, 14. Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No 5.

Stewards Note:

ALWAYS FEARLESS: Following its run on 10/2/2024 it was reported that the horse anticipated the start.

Probable S.P’s: 3-1 Beautiful Crown (GB), 8-1 Voltaic (GB), 10-1 Cervetto (IRE), Dakota Power (GB), Luna Magic (GB), Sirius White (IRE), 14-1 Marsh Benham (IRE), 16-1 Vellner (IRE), 20-1 Always Fearless (IRE), 28-1 Finn Russell (IRE), Raqraaq (USA), 33-1 Warning Sign (FR), Jenson Benson (IRE), 40-1 King ofThe Dance (IRE)

BEAUTIFUL CROWN hasn’t looked back since joining Jack Jones and is fancied to make it 3-3 for the yard off a still workable mark. The reliable Cervetto could emerge as the main threat, especially if the fitting of cheekpieces ekes out a bit more improvement. Dakota Power, Vellner and Voltaic are all worthy of respect too.

LION’S PRIDE sets the standard and there was nothing wrong with his third at Kempton on return 3 months ago, so he’s the one to beat having likely been well prepared for this. Al Mubhir is a danger after shaping well in handicap company and Checkandchallenge isn’t without hope.

QUICKTHORN has an underwhelming return to put behind him but there’s no obvious pressure for the lead and, if he’s able to build up an early advantage, he’s going to be tough to peg back. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Sandown Park Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
