WelcometotheCoral-EclipseSummerFestivalLadiesDayatSandown Park, where style meets racing for an unforgettable experience. This is the social highlight of the year and a chance for you to dress to express while enjoying the thrilling racing action.

Every year the whole team look forward to the highlight of our Flat racing calendar We have 14 top-class races to enjoy over the two action-packed days of the Coral-Eclipse Summer Festival, kicking off today with a seven-race card headlined by the three listed races in the Dragon Stakes, Coral Marathon and Davies Insurance Solutions Gala Stakes

Last year’s renewal of the Coral Marathon saw one of the most impressive performances from the two-day meeting as Coltrane ran out a ready winner His form since then has not stopped improving and he was seen most recently finishing second in the Ascot Gold Gup at the Royal Ascot meeting We are excited to see if this year’s renewal will produce another star

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our headline sponsors Coral for their unwavering support as well as British EBF, Davies Group and Vintage Acquisitions for their generous sponsorship on today’s card We wish them all a thoroughly enjoyable day.

We are once again pleased to present the Style Awards in association with House of Cavani which is open to all guests over the age of 18 and free to enter Throughout the day, fashiongurus Marie and Claire from Surrey Frills will be scouting for the most expressive and stylish attendees. The winners and runners-up of the Style Awards will be presented in between racing at the Style Pod near the Parade Ring with a bouquet of prizes for each category.

Stay #RaceDay glam at ‘The Glow-Up Bar’, a boutique pop-up hair and beauty salon located in the Shopping & Styling Zone just inside the Surrey Hall offering a mix of beautifying services from just £10

Once racing concludes we are delighted to host an after party headlined by the charming Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago known worldwide for their mesmerising performances, mixing live saxophone with epic dance anthems.

Sandown Park is always striving for opportunities to support our local communities and so this year we are excited to announce the “Donate A Dress” campaign in collaboration with Princess Alice Hospice Racegoers are encouraged to donate any unwanted clothing items in good condition at the Hospitality Collection Desk situated in the main Grandstand throughout the whole Coral Eclipse Summer Festival weekend or directly at the Princess Alice Hospice shop on Esher High Street All donations will be collected and sold in Princess Alice Hospice shops, generating funds to provide support to patients and families in need.

Thank you for joining us on the opening day of the Coral-Eclipse Summer Festival We wish all our racegoers and connections a wonderful day and the very best of luck.

CLARENDON HOUSE pulled too hard in a Listed event at Haydock last time but he went very close in the “Dash” at Epsom the time before so is worth another chance in a first-time tongue strap Korker was back to his smart best when second at Newcastle last week so rates a big threat, while Arecibo took a step back in the right direction in the same race and has performed well here before

BORN TO ROCK cost plenty at the breeze-ups and clocked a good time when making a winning start in a Yarmouth maiden back in May, so there’s no real urge to look beyond her, especially in a weak-looking renewal of this listed contest. Nazalan had clearly learnt plenty from his debut when making all over C&D last month and, with that form proving strong, he’s feared most. Kylian opened his account in decisive fashion at Newcastle recently and warrants respect, also

It’s tough to look beyond YIBIR, who was unable get competitive in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot just over a fortnight ago but back in much calmer waters, Charlie Appleby’s 5-y-o should prove tough to beat. Ocean Wind has a lengthy absence to overcome, but he put up a few smart performances in defeat back in 2021 and he could give the selection most to think about sporting first-time headgear Aaddeey and Sleeping Lion can do battle for third spot. MOTAZZEN: Following its run on 7/6/2023 it was reported that the horse was denied a clear run.

STAR CALIBER: Following its run on 23/6/2023 it was reported that the horse ran too freely

BALBOA: Following its run on 13/3/2023 it was reported that the horse suffered interference in running.

Probable S.P’s: 4-1 Miss Cynthia (GB), 7-1 Lionella (GB), 15-2 Liable (GB), 8-1 Seahouses (GB), 10-1 Further Measure (USA), 12-1 PercyJones (GB), 14-1 Motazzen (IRE), He’s A Latchico (IRE), 16-1 Haarar (GB), 25-1 Star Caliber (GB), 28-1 Militry Decoration (IRE), Balboa (GB), 40-1 Sea Appeal (IRE)

MISS CYNTHIA relished the longer trip and pulled clear with another promising sort when second at Yarmouth a week ago, so she makes plenty of appeal as she bids to go one better from the same mark. Recent C&D winner Lionella is a big danger and Seahouses looks an interesting handicap debutant.

PLAY SMARTER

Though winless following 14 attempts, BRILLIANT BLUE is of strong interest back at a mile. Indeed, the 4-y-o shaped well on his first 2 starts ofthe season priorto appearing to run out of petrol in the closing stages upped to 1 1/4m at Lingfield. Goldsmith merits respect for all that he’s yet to shine on turf Roman Dynastywould obviously be a huge player if he were to line up for this (due to run at Yarmouth Thursday)
