Third to Jadoomi in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood (1m, good) since and will be a danger to all provided he gets a strong pace to aim at. TFRHHHII BHA109

B Lady Bamford TIMEFORM VIEW Smart performer who was better than ever when winning a 1m Doncaster handicap at the beginning of June. Subsequent efforts not so good, but yard saddled the winner of this race 12 months ago and a return to form would see him involved in the finish. TFRHHHII BHA107

Race wasn’t run to suit in a Salisbury Group 3 last time and it’s not hard to envisage this 6-y-o putting up a bold show. TFRHHHHI BHA107

Excuses at Goodwood since and he merits serious consideration down in class here with blinkers enlisted. TFRHHHHH BHA110

Br B f Sixties Icon - Tanojin (IRE) (Thousand Words)   Trevor Whelan J O Miss Sheena West   Sheena West, Lewes T B Norman Court Stud   Southdowns Unleashed S TIMEFORM VIEW Has stood up well to an intensive campaign this year and arrives here on a high following recent back-to-back victories in handicaps at Epsom. Clearly at the top of her game, but probably biting off more than she can chew at this level. TFRHIIII BHA78 (+2)

Not disgraced in a Newmarket Group 3 on final start of 2021, but this is a big ask following an 11-month absence. TFRHHIII BHA97

Blinkers worn first time by No. 5. Tongue Strap worn by No. 1. Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No. 6. Probable S.P’s: 15-8 Bayside Boy (IRE), 10-3 Escobar (IRE), 4-1 Sinjaari (IRE), 15-2 Magical Morning (GB), 12-1 Sweet Believer (IRE), 33-1 Auria (GB), 50-1 Sly Madam (GB)

Three-year-olds have dominated this race in recent years and BAYSIDE BOY is taken to uphold that trend. Roger Varian’s charge didn’t appear to handle the track at Goodwood last time and is better judged on his effort in the St James’s Palace, form which puts him top of the list here. He may also be better equipped than several of these rivals were this to develop into a tactical affair, a scenario which wouldn’t aid the cause of Sinjaari, Escobar nor Magical Morning (feared most in that order).
