Page 1

THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOME TO

WELCOMES YOUEVENING CORAL HERON STAKES Welcome to Sandown Park for the second of our music nights, featuring legendary musician Nile Rodgers & CHIC who headline after racing with some of their biggest pop hits from the last four decades. Two of the races on tonight’s card are qualifiers for The Jockey Club Grassroots Finals which take place at Nottingham Racecourse on 28th September. The Series is aimed at offering enhanced prize money to horses who tend to do their racing at a notch or two below Group or Listed level. Looking ahead, we have one more music night to look forward to at Sandown Park with acclaimed band Simply Red taking to the stage live after racing on Thursday 4th August. Later in the summer, join us for our Summer Celebration and Sky Bet Sunday Series, a weekend of great racing, entertainment and fun for all the family. Tickets for these fixtures are on sale through the Sandown Park website. I hope that you have a fantastic time with us at Sandown Park and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck. Sarah Drabwell General Manager of Sandown Park Racecourse

PLAY SMARTER

Cases can be made for a few but Ralph Beckett’s BOOM BOOM POW has filled the runner-up spot on all 3 starts so far, and now moving into handicaps, she’s fancied to go a place better. Armour Propre was unsuited by the way the race developed in an ultra-competitive Super Sprint at Newbury last time so she’s put forward as the main danger back in much calmer waters, with Safari Dream next on the list.

Having showed race-by-race progress over shorter trips as a juvenile, there was definite encouragement to glean from TUDDENHAM GREEN’s return/handicap debut third over shorter at Haydock 4 weeks ago and, with further progress in the offing now his stamina is drawn out further, he could be the answer.
