THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOME TO
WELCOMES YOUEVENING CORAL HERON STAKES Welcome to Sandown Park for Gentlemen's Day, a social raceday featuring excellent racing and a host of entertainment off the course. We would like to thank Coral, who have generously sponsored all seven of this afternoon's races and who are a long-standing and dedicated supporter of racing here at Sandown Park. The feature race today is the Coral Scurry Stakes, a Listed contest, which takes place on our five furlong sprint course in the centre of the racecourse. One recent winner of the Scurry Stakes was the hugely popular Battaash, who took the 2017 renewal before becoming one of the most successful sprinters of the modern era. His electrifying performance here set the tone for a career which included four King George victories, two Nunthorpes and a King's Stand among numerous other top level successes. His Coral Charge victory set a new Sandown Park five furlong course record for three year olds and upwards, which remains to this day. The Watch Racing Online Free With Coral Handicap is a qualifier for the Jockey Club Grassroots Series, which provides opportunities for horses operating below the highest level to compete for substantial prize money. Finals Day takes place at Nottingham on Wednesday 28th September. Away from the racing we have the opportunity to take on darts legends Bobby George & Tony O’Shea in a series of darts challenges. Concluding the day we have an after party with a live DJ set, so you can get your dancing shoes on and celebrate the weekend in style. On Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd July we will stage the Coral Summer Festival. I very much hope you can join us for what is the undoubted highlight of our Flat season. I hope that you all have a wonderful time here at Sandown Park today and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck. Sarah Drabwell General Manager of Sandown Park Racecourse

PLAY SMARTER
Several to consider in an open-looking handicap. VEE SIGHT tops the shortlist having shown clear promise at 2 yrs and there should be better to come from Ralph Beckett’s charge now that he moves up in trip for this handicap debut. Godolphin-duo Maplewood and Night of Luxury both merit respect, but a bigger threat may be posed by Aldhaja, who was strong at the finish when scoring at Haydock last time and it’s likely that he has more to offer.

PLAY SMARTER
This is a bit easier than the races CATURRA has contested lately and he can make his class count. Live In The Dream couldn’t dominate in the fast and furious Epsom Dash last weekend but it could be a different story in this small field and he’s the one likely to give Clive Cox’s charge most to do.

MOEL ARTHUR left his 3-y-o form well behind when making a winning handicap bow at Lingfield in February and stepped up again when only just denied on his turf debut at Newbury. He pulled clear of a subsequent winner that day so can resume winning ways. Tralee Hills should be suited by a return to this trip so is next best ahead of Dancing Harry, who is back down in class.
