PLAY SMARTER Cases can be made for most here but preference is for CHAMPAGNE WELL, who was helped by coming from well off a true pace to score at Plumpton last month and, with his stable continuing to churn out winners, he can make his first handicap over the larger obstacles a winning one. Mahler’s Promise ran a fine race after 5 months off so he could provide the main threat, ahead of Zhiguli.
