WELCOME TO SALISBURY RACECOURSE

Welcome to Salisbury Racecourse for the first of our three Saturday evening race meetings.

We last raced nine days ago when jockey Tom Marquand rode four winners; three of them for Newmarket trainer William Haggas. There were some nice horses in the 2 year old races and the Novice Stakes races, and it would be no surprise to see one of two of them appear at Royal Ascot next month.

Today features the EBF sponsored Listed race, the Cathedral Stakes, in its new slot at our late May fixture. It looks a very strong renewal today, and so initial thoughts are that the move to have the race a fortnight earlier, suggested by the BHA, has been a good one.

Shortly after the racing tonight our 90 minutes of music, courtesy of Massaoke will start, so please do stay with us, as it looks like it will be very entertaining and fun. The other two Saturday evenings with racing and music, are on July 15th and 29th. Please note that there is a change of personality for our event on the 29th, as Scott Mills has replaced Jordan North.

The directors and staff wish you a very pleasant event with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Salisbury Racecourse soon.

Best Wishes

Jeremy Martin Executive Director & Clerk of the Course
