TODAY’S TIPS

Race One

MY GENGHIS has the ability to figure strongly, given he is 3lb well in after a near-miss at Windsor 10 days ago, and the four-year-old is respected, despite being burdened with top weight However, REDREDROBIN looks worth another try at this trip after a solid effort at Kempton on his reappearance last month. He showed plenty of zest that day and may have more to give from just 3lb higher than his last winning mark The dangerously well-handicapped First Company is also considered.

WIN: REDREDROBIN

Race Two

DANGER: MY GENGHIS

Unbreak My Heart, a half-sister to Flying Childers winner Heartache, is an interesting newcomer to consider, while Whoop Whoop also has some quality in her pedigree and is worth a betting check at least on debut However, this might be best left to previous winners Juniper Berries and RELIEF RALLY, with the latter shading preference after notching a comfortable success on her first start at Windsor last month.

WIN: RELIEF RALLY

Race Three

DANGER: JUNIPER BERRIES

Christian David holds some noteworthy entries and can give an early indication towards Richard Hannon's pecking order for some of the big sales races later in the campaign. However, the previous experience held by NOVATION could be a telling factor and this half-brother of Navello, who was precocious as a two-year-old, should be a lot wiser after his introduction in a Doncaster maiden last month. The form looks solid given the winner of the race went close in the Lily Agnes at Chester last week Palmar Bay also warrants consideration.

WIN: NOVATION

Race Four

DANGER: CHRISTIAN DAVID

BEAULD AS BRASS won nicely from a subsequent winner at Brighton last time out and a 7lb rise may not be enough to stop him making if three wins in his last four Jax Edge may have had Princess Naomi (second) under a length behind at Bath, but the latter is taken to overturn the form courtesy of a 7lb pull at the weights Narrowly denied at Wolverhampton over further, Zoukster cannot be ruled out either

WIN: BEAULD AS BRASS

Race Five

DANGER: PRINCESS NAOMI

Golspie is bound to be popular after a taking win on debut at Newbury last month, although the form of that race has not worked out too well. With that in mind, preference is for KINGFISHER KING, who shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Yarmouth when finishing runner-up The step up in trip can bring about the necessary improvement for the son of Farhh to get off the mark Ibrahimovic ran well in a hot race at Newmarket last time and must also enter calculations

WIN: KINGFISHER KING

Race Six

DANGER: GOLSPIE

A number of fascinating contenders head to post but marginal preference is for LA ISLA MUJERES. The daughter of Lope De Vega kept on well for fourth over 1m on her racecourse debut at Kempton last year, but she should be ideally suited by today's longer trip Mantoog is feared most after a promising performance on her only start as a two-year-old, while Tarraff heads the remainder

WIN: LA ISLA MUJERES

Race Seven

DANGER: MANTOOG

Raised markedly in trip ahead of his handicap debut 10 days ago, TRUE LEGEND was able to score at the fourth time of asking. Sir Mark Prescott's charge travelled smoothly into contention that day and, with further improvement likely, a 6lb penalty may not stop him here. He gets the nod over Caraxes, who sports blinkers for the first time, while Campaign Trail must be of interest for his in-form yard

WIN: TRUE LEGEND

DANGER: CARAXES

I am particularly pleased to continue our sponsorship of the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai - Racing Excellence Apprentice Handicap Series here at Salisbury Racecourse for the 2023 season.

This is a very unique series which will help mould up and coming riders in so many ways. Discipline and respect are the foundation of this series and with the guidance of George Baker, it will be of enormous benefit to the next generation of jockeys into the future.

Salisbury is a racecourse close to my heart as when I was living in the UK as a young man, I visited the track on many occasions and hold some wonderful memories of the venue.

Our investment into this series compliments our other Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai sponsorships across the UK in Newmarket and York.

Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai would like to offer our congratulations to the Board and Managment at Salisbury Racecourse on this terrific initiative and wish all those who participate, every success as this series plays out over the summer months.

Race Summary: MY GENGHIS ran up to his best when runner-up at Windsor 10 days ago and eased a shade in the weights, this looks a good opportunity for Tony Carroll’s 4-y-o to double his tally. Redredrobin shaped as if the run was needed on return at Kempton last month, so she’s put forward as the main danger, ahead of On Edge and Firenze Rosa.
