Welcome to Salisbury for our September evening meeting. Last year we saw the soft ground specialist Trueshan win the featured ‘Persian Punch’ Conditions Stakes. Trueshan has since been successful in both a Group 2 and Group 1 race – the latter being the Goodwood Cup. We last raced eight days ago when 28-1 chance Romantic Time provided trainer William Stone with his first Group winner, in the Dick Poole Stakes. It was a cracking finish, and Hollie Doyle gave the horse a great ride to pass her rivals up the far side rail, in the last half furlong. Outbreak and Good American also looked two nice winning 2 year olds. In September 2019 a horse called Emaraaty Ana won a Conditions race at Salisbury over 6 furlongs. He was described by trainer Kevin Ryan, as ‘as good a horse I have ever trained’ after his win last Saturday in the Group 1 sprint at Haydock Park. The track gets a bit of a break now until the ‘season finale’ on Thursday 30th September, a day we traditionally see lots of 2 year olds. Thank you for joining us this evening and we look forward to seeing you later this month, or if not, next year. The fixture dates for 2022 will appear on our website just as soon as they are confirmed. Best wishes, Jeremy Martin Executive Director & Clerk of the Course
