Alongside the racing, we’re delighted to welcome Robbie Barr – our very own Michael Bublé –who will be providing live entertainment on the Bandstand throughout the afternoon. Our feature race this afternoon is the Ripon Races Ladies’ Day Handicap at 3.25pm. The contest features several proven performers, including Course & Distance winners Vince L’Amour & Another Baar, alongside a host of Distance winners making it one of the highlights of today’s card.
Although today marks the halfway point of our 2026 season, there’s still plenty to look forward to. We return with evening racing on Monday 6th July, before welcoming racegoers back for our Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival fixture on Saturday 18th July.

PRIDE OF NEPAL has thrived since reverting to turf last month and shouldn’t mind this quick turnaround judged on his exploits at Lingfield two starts ago.TonyCarroll’s charge has a penalty to contend with and goes up in trip, but neither of those factors are too concerning and the veteran is taken to just continue on his merry way. Kitsune Power and Bruce Banner can make a race of it.

Roc De Fer must be taken seriously on his handicap bow given his profile for these connections, and What’s The Plan is another to respect.

WILD CLARY had been running well in defeat prior to his Newbury success a week ago and Richard Hannon’s gelding makes plenty of appeal once again, despite a 5lb penalty. Miraculous showed more when third at Chester last weekend and should not be underestimated, while Dark Thirty is a player based on his win in a valuable event at York two starts ago.

ERVANI has not been beaten far on either start to date and that includes a two-length fourth in a valuable event at York last month. On that evidence, the son of Lucky Vega could take some stopping. The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
