SIR RUMI (4.30) trained by R Hannon, Marlborough, distance of 220 miles.
IMPERIAL SANDS (5.05) trained by A Watson, Upper Lambourn, distance of 211 miles
Only narrowly denied over this distance at Beverley earlier this month, GOOD POINT looks the one to beat if reproducing that effort stepping up in class. He is fairly well related and the fact he is a half-brother to the Group 1-placed Decrypt means there could be much more to come. Mutasawi is surely a lot better than his latest outing suggests and he is feared most ahead of Mirroring.
WIN: GOOD POINT
DANGER: MUTASAWI
UNEQUAL LOVE built on her racecourse debut to score over this distance at Leicester, and she left the impression that there would be more to come on that occasion. Her dam was Listed-placed during her career and, with more improvement likely, she can get the better of Billyjoh, who looked a smart prospect when scoring at Doncasteron debut. ElusiveAngel looks the pick of the remainder.
WIN: UNEQUAL LOVE
DANGER: BILLYJOH
Dungar Glorywas denied a hat-trick when stepping up in class for her most recent run and she could struggle off top-weight here, so GAREEB gets the nod. She is now 5lb better off with Dungar Glory for a two-and-three-quarter-length defeat over C&D last month. Tabuk makes a lot of appeal on his stable debut for Grant Tuer and adds further spice to the race.
WIN: GAREEB
DANGER: DUNGAR GLORY
CHILLINGHAMwentwell fora longwayin the CopperHorse Stakes at RoyalAscot last month, and he can strike on the drop in grade. A winner on his two previous starts over this distance, the unexposed four-year-old should have too much for the capable Sir Rumi and Mr Curiosity, who seems to be improving with each start since joining new connections.
WIN: CHILLINGHAM
DANGER: SIR RUMI
SPIRIT CATCHER may have disappointed at Sandown last time out, but he deserves a change in luck having been runner-up on his three starts prior to that. This track suits front runners, which should play to his strengths, and the son of New Bay is narrowly preferred to Pontefract second Imperial Sands and Baltimore Boy, who remains unexposed and open to improvement.
WIN: SPIRIT CATCHER
DANGER: IMPERIAL SANDS
A determined winner over C&D recently, GLENDOWN should have plenty more to come off a 3lb higher mark.Tim Easterby’s charge is a consistent sort at this level and he gets thevote ahead ofStrength ‘n HonourandThornabyPearl, who returned from a long absencewith an encouraging effort overslightlyshorterat Doncaster Wreck It Ryley has only run the four times on turf and is another to consider.
WIN: GLENDOWN

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

This race is a five furlongs maiden stakes for two-yearolds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.

This contest is a Novice Stakes, this time run over a distance of six furlongs. There are a variety of reasons why the three-year-olds in this race are still light on experience. Stoutly bred horses are unlikely to be seen at their best over the shorter distances of their juvenile season whilst a setback or injury can curtail even the most precociously bred horse’s two-year-old career

This is a one mile and one furlong handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 61 to 80 In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.

This is a one mile and four furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 86 to 105. To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap. In simple terms a horse rated 75 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 70.

This is a one mile handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85 Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb.

This is a six furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70 that have not won more than two races. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is.
