Race Description
This is a six furlongs handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards fillies and mares only which have been rated from 76 to 95. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty – usually 6lb.

DECLARED RUNNERS 5
2022: AL SIMMO 5 9 8 Clifford Lee 7-2 (Steph Hollinshead) 5 ran Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No 2.
Stewards Note: EY UP IT’S MAGGIE: Following its run on 30/4/2023 it was reported that the horse ran flat. Betting Forecast:
11-8 Pinafore (IRE), 4-1 Coco Jamboo (IRE), 9-2 Song of Success (GB), 5-1 Ey Up It’s Maggie (GB), 16-1 International Girl (IRE) PLAY
The progressive PINAFORE shaped very well when fourth on her handicap bow/return at Newmarket last month, ridden much more prominently than the trio that beat her, and she remains of strong interest. Song of Success was a close fourth on her nursery bow at Lingfield on her final start and is feared most starting out for James Fanshawe
