The Ripon Cathedral Handicap Class

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse.

We’ve had a very quick turnaround after racing yesterday evening and there’s no time to rest on our laurels after today’s meeting either as we look ahead to racing next Wednesday evening. Our feature race today is the Ripon Cathedral Handicap at 2.50. The Tim Easterby-trained Bollin Joan has three wins and two seconds to her credit here and she is sure to prove popular after her game success at York last time. There are plenty of possible contenders, however, including Heights of Abraham who ran out an impressive winner on his only previous visit here.

Our Goodbye Flys Stable Staff competition is hotting up and it’s great to see so much effort going into turning out the horses. There’s another 102 points to play for today so every race counts as the teams fight it out for the £5000 first prize. We have music on the bandstand this afternoon from talented local artist Freddie Cleary. We hope you have a great day and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
