THE BRANNANS HAVE “DONE THE 61” HANDICAP STAKES
Our passion for horse racing came from both our fathers who loved nothing more than a little flutter on the horses. We went to our first racecourse together, to the Ebor meeting at York in 1983. When the kids came along it took them quite a while to work out that it wasn’t pure coincidence that all our family holidays happened to be near racecourses. When we took early retirement in March 2021 we made a plan to visit the outstanding 16 racecourses, but like everyone, Covid delayed everything. But we managed 6 meetings in 2022 and the other 9 this year, which leaves us with today at Redcar, the culmination of 40 years of horse racing.
