Joe was the much loved son of Paul and Karen Newton.

Joe was a kind caring and loveable young man that lived life to the full. he was an accomplished sportsman as a child and a sports lover as an adult. he and his loving partner Natalie have a beautiful daughter Mia who they both treasure.

Joe lived his life across two towns, Redcar and Prudhoe in Northumberland. Joe had great support from his family and friends in both towns particularly his Grandma ann Newton, his Nana Cath Bone and his Uncle Peter and auntie Karen Newton.

Joe’s life suddenly ended on the 24th May 2015, and this race has been sponsored so all his friends and family can celebrate his life and the great times they had with Joe and to share memories of this funny, unique and vibrant young man.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW

ROCKONMECCA went close to opening her account in first-time headgear when third at Ripon earlier this month and this represents a good opportunity for Michael Dods’s filly to come out on top with blinkers the equipment of choice this time around. Senseofentitlement turned in his best effort of the season at Beverley recently, so he heads up the opposition, ahead of the returning Bay of Hope

THE TIMEFORM VIEW

BARYSHNIKOV looked unlucky not to win when runner-up at Ripon last time, finishing well having been held up in a steadily-run race, and he can make amends this time around. Wild Side arrives bidding for a hat-trick and isn’t taken lightly, while Mahanakhon can also give another good account.

Gary Wood, Chief Operating Officer of The SDDE Smith Group and Managing Director of WOODSmith Construction will present a memento to the winning owner
