A cash prize will also be awarded to the stable employee responsible for the best turned out horse in this race. Goffs UK Ltd and Newbury racecourse have guaranteed the value of this race and, in the event that no guarantee is required, will add £50000 towards the race. All number cloths to be carried in this race have been sponsored and will carry the name/logo of GOFFS UK LTD. The sponsorship payment of £250 will be distributed equally amongst all horses starting in this race in accordance with the Stakes and Prize Money Code. The British Horseracing Authority has modified Rule (A)20.1, Rule (F)2, Rule (F)69.2, Rule (F)70.6.2, (Rule (F)71.6.2, Rule (F)85.2, Rule (F)86.6.1, Rule (F)102, Rule (F)103, Rule (F)110, Rule (F)118, Rule (F)137, Schedule (B)2.2, Schedule 2.3.2, Schedule (F)5.2, Schedule (F)5.3.2, Schedule (F)8 and Schedule (F)9 for the purposes of this race. NOTE: Entries for this race will be accepted at the time of closing for horses which do not have a registered name. However, such horses will be disqualified and removed from the race if the name has not been registered by Tuesday, February 28th, 2023, in accordance with Rule (E)3, Rule (E)4, Rule (E)8 and Rule (E)9. For horses trained in Great Britain, Ireland or the Channel Islands, and acceptable application must be made by the previous Friday. (Elimination of horses from this race will be determined by the BHA Handicapper) THE LAST TWO ENTRY STAKE PAYMENTS, TOTALLING £400, WILL BE REIMBURSED TO THE OWNER WHEN THE HORSE HAS BEEN DECLARED TO RUN UNDER RULE (F)89 BUT IS BALLOTED OUT. SPECIAL NOTES: 1. The advertised Total Prize Fund stated in the race conditions is a fixed amount and will not be increased. 2. In the event of elimination proving necessary, the eliminated horses will be refunded according to the conditions of the race. 3. If there is still an excess of Stakes, i.e. the amount of the Owners’ Stakes exceeds the advertised Total Prize Fund value less the guaranteed racecourse and sponsors contribution, as stated in the race conditions, this excess will be refunded to Owners as follows: a. The proportion of Stakes generated at each stage will be calculated (ignoring horses that have already received a full or partial refund of that stage payment due to elimination) b. Whatever proportion of the excess that was generated at each stage will be divided equally between all horses which paid at that stage.
