THE TIMEFORM VIEW All 5 of these arrive in excellent order but COPPER KNIGHT is a very straightforward ride for an apprentice and from stall 1, it’s easy enough to construct a case for the veteran making all. Hover On The Wind finished behind Protest Rally when the pair clashed here 17 days ago but is weighted to reverse the form this time.

WELFARE OF HORSES AND RIDERS

The safety and welfare of all horses and riders involved in races at Pontefract is one of our principal priorities. A Paramedic Ambulance, a Doctor and a Vet follow the runners in every race.

GREEN SCREENS will normally be erected round any horse or rider requiring attention in order to provide privacy. This does NOT necessarily reflect on the severity of any injury.

Racing For Everyone

We want to make today’s race meeting as accessible as we can and have made a few additions to the day to improve the event.

What’s happening:

At 4.30pm there is a ‘Trip Down Memory Lane’ talk and short presentation looking back at the history of the Racecourse with photos and a short film of the course in 1975. This will take place in the Betting Hall

We have an autism friendly, mobile sensory space on the marquee lawn, to the left of the Parade Ring.

Sunflower lanyards are available at the entrances. There are also sunflower benches on the marquee site in a quiet area of the racecourse, specifically for those who need a little more quiet space.

We have two BSL Interpreters with us. One will be signing the race commentary on the big screen, while the other will be on hand in the Paddock bar and restaurant area.

If you would like further information on the facilities available at the Racecourse, please head to the Raceday Office. A member of staff will be on hand to explain the layout of the course and highlight the facilities for those who may have additional needs or specific accessibility requirements.

Large font menus and racecards are available from the Raceday Office throughout the evening.

British Sign Language Interpreters

We have two BSL interpreters here today, to assist racegoers.

They will be available in the following locations: 4.30pm Trip Down Memory Lane

In the betting hall to sign the Trip Down Memory Lane presentation.

Bar and Restaurant Assistance

In the Grandstand & Paddock bar and restaurant areas. They will also make trips to the Parade Ring area during the evening.

Race Commentary

The commentary for each race here this evening will be signed on the big screen on the opposite side of the track.

THE TIMEFORM VIEW QUEEN OF STEEL continued the excellent work for Fergal O’Brien when a commanding winner at Nottingham a month ago and while the assessor has reacted with a 10lb rise, a cross-code 4-timer may well still be on the cards. Captain Potter and Bodygroove look the pick of the opposition.

This list will be updated after each race meeting. We appreciate all of your hard work and the effort put into getting your horses ready before they run at Ponte. This year we would like to reward the yard that receives the most best turned out awards with £500.
