TROPEZ POWER’s sole success on turf was as a 2-y-o but he has been knocking on the door of late and is taken to deservedly get his head back in front. Sunday 25th June
The above list is the best turned out winners of each race from our last meeting. We appreciate all of the hardwork and effort that the Lads and Lasses put into their horses before they run here at Ponte!
This year we would like to reward the yard that receives the most best turned out awards at the end of the season with a tasty treat! Currently joint top of the table are Paul Midgley & Roger Fell’s yards, who have both won four Best Turned Out Prizes this year!
There are 3 stations in Pontefract – Monkhill, Baghill and Tanshelf. Pontefract Tanshelf is more or less opposite the entrance to the Park, whereas Monkhill and Baghill stations are more centrally located in Pontefract and are around 2 to 3 miles from the course. If you don’t fancy the walk through the Town, taxis are available at the stations.
There is a fourth station at Glasshoughton which adjoins the Xscape complex. This is a couple of miles from the Racecourse. If you have some time to kill, from near Glasshoughton Station (starting in the car park to B&Q!), there is a lovely walk through the Park to the Racecourse. It will take around 45 minutes.
