Mr Orange taking in the views!
He is also no stranger to the Winners Enclosure having won an impressive 7 times at Ponte. You’ll mostly see Mr Orange sprinting home over 6 furlongs, and more often than not he will be paired with jockey Graham Lee. The duo have won together 4 times.

Mr Orange is a familiar face here at Pontefract Racecourse, having run here 39 times from just 74 starts. This means over half of the races he has ever run were here at Ponte, so I’m sure we are one of his favourite tracks!
Throughout his career Mr Orange has amassed £74,280 in prize money and as much as he loves Ponte, he has also run some big races at York and Ascot!

Preference is for MISS BRITAIN, who hasn’t done a great deal wrong this season and the form of her latest effort at Newcastle looks pretty solid in the context of this grade. Triggered will be a big threat if able to shrug off a below-par recent display at Yarmouth, while Captain Vallo also enters the reckoning on the back of a good shift at Redcar. Recent winners Lezardrieux and Magical Effect are shortlisted, too.

The winning horse will also receive a sack of carrots kindly donated by Poskitts Vegetable Farmers and Growers’

The ‘Art of Racing’ Guest Judge in this race will present £20 to the stable employee in charge of their choice of the best turned out horse.

GET TO KNOW PONTE REGULAR ... aka ‘Jenson’ with my bestie Amanda x Posing for the camera! Hi everyone! AGE: 9 years old TRAINER: Simon Whitaker OWNER: Nice Day Out Partnership SILKS: Round The Island, or Jenson as he is known to his friends, is a familiar face at Pontefract Racecourse, having won here an impressive 6 times out of 10 career wins. More than half of Jenson’s wins were over 6 furlongs here at Ponte, so it’s fair to say he loves an uphill finish! He has run 81 times to date - including 24 at Ponte. You’re likely to see him paired with Phil Dennis in his races and, if they’re in the centre of the pack when they turn into the home straight, watch out for his power packed finish as he approaches the winning post.

When at home he loves nothing more than to be out on the gallops with Amanda, who has ridden him since he was a yearling. Although be careful as he can be cheeky and try to take control so he can go that bit faster Jenson clearly has a need for speed! they’re his favourite!
