BEHIND THE SCENES RACEDAY

THURSDAY 30TH JULY

OFFICIAL RACECARD £3

Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse and thank you for joining us today.

We are delighted to welcome owners, trainers, jockeys, stable staff and racegoers for what promises to be an enjoyable afternoon of competitive racing. Whether you are a regular visitor or attending for the first time, we hope you enjoy everything that Nottingham Racecourse has to offer I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our raceday sponsors, Oddschecker, for their valued support. We are grateful for their partnership and are delighted to welcome them to Nottingham Racecourse today.

Today also sees the introduction of a Behind the Scenes Raceday, giving racegoers the opportunity to experience areas of the racecourse that are not normally accessible. The programme includes a weighing room tour, a guided course walk, visits to the parade ring and pre-parade ring, and the chance to see the starting stalls up close. I am delighted to report that all available places sold out within just a couple of days, demonstrating the growing interest in learning more about our sport.

We are also pleased to welcome a group of 33 students from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science at the University of Nottingham. We hope they enjoy the opportunity to experience a raceday environment first-hand and gain a greater understanding of the important role veterinary professionals play within British racing.

My thanks, as always, go to our owners, trainers, jockeys and stable staff, as well as the dedicated team here at Nottingham Racecourse. From our grounds teams to those working across operations, maintenance, catering, sales, marketing and customer relations, their professionalism and commitment ensure every raceday is delivered to the highest standard.

Thank you for your support and for choosing to spend your day with us. We hope you have an enjoyable and successful afternoon and look forward to welcoming you back to Nottingham Racecourse again soon.

Enjoy the racing.

BETTING EXPLAINED

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

PALAZZO PERSICO proved tenacious when winning at Catterick a fortnight ago, scoring his second success in 3 starts for current connections. The yard also fields Galaxy Wonder, who holds a solid chance, though it may be best to side with the former as his rider has already guided him to victory recently Poet’s Dawn is a tough veteran who looks capable of proving a threat, too.
