WELCOME TO

Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse, where an incredible afternoon of flat racing awaits you on the turf. In light of the events that occurred in Nottingham this week, we will be holding a minute’s silence before racing at 2pm in memory of those who have tragically lost their lives

A special thank you to Racing TV and British EBF who have generously sponsored today’s sevenrace card. We also express our special appreciation to Fairfax Saddles for their continuous support of our Leading Trainers and Jockey championships. Defending champion jockey Rob Hornby is well clear in the Fairfax Jockey Championships after a double win at Nottingham Racecourse just over a week ago.

Today, we have two feature races on the card First up the Racing TV Fillies’ Handicap Stakes at 3.10pm, the seventh qualifier for the Jockey Club Grassroots Mile Series. These Grassroots series have been created to offer increased prize money to horses that typically compete just below the Group or Listed level. To secure a spot in the finals at Nottingham in September, horses must have participated in at least one qualifying race throughout the season A total of 20 qualifying races will be hosted at Jockey Club Racecourses during this series, ensuring ample opportunities for all contenders The Class Three Racing TV Handicap Stakes is at 3.45pm with an excellent field of runners.

In addition to the exhilarating races this afternoon, we invite you to enjoy Winning Plaice and Ann’s Tearoom within our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere For those seeking a truly indulgent experience, consider upgrading to Sherwoods Restaurant for an afternoon of hospitality while enjoying a breath-taking view of the racecourse. Detailed information about these options can be found on our website, provided below.I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck

Summer is upon us so break out the neon shorts and funky wigs for our retrothemed 80s Summer Party on Saturday 8th July which is sure to be packed with both amazing racing action and classic disco tunes. Information on our annual passes as well as tickets for all our fixtures are available to purchase, either through the racecourse office or on our website www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/nottingham

I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

PLAY SMARTER

Those with experience don’t set the bar that high so a chance is taken on William Haggas newcomer GODWINSON whose smart half-brother Tiber Flow made a winning debut in these silks. Emma Emilleen probably won’t really come into her own until tackling 1 1/4m+ but has shown enough in her 2 starts around 1m to suggest she can make her presence felt here. Sealine and Eddie Temple are others to consider

ICE SHADOW ran well on his first go at this trip last time and blinkers might bring a bit more out of him, so he takes marginal preference over Storm Asset. Bold And Loyal also arrives on the back of a good effort, so he’s considered despite his long-standing maiden tag.
