Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse for our Superhero Family Raceday in aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Services.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Racing TV, our headline sponsors, for their generous support of today’s seven-race card and to British Stallion Stud EBF for supporting the opening race A special thank you to Fairfax Saddles for their continuous support of our Leading Trainers and Jockey championships, with standings remaining unchanged since our last fixture

There will be two pony races today kicking off the action at 1.10pm and 1.25pm followed by our feature race, the Racing TV Handicap Stakes over one mile which was won last year by the Charles Hills trained Dark Shift who then went on to win the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot on his next start. This race is a series qualifier for the Jockey Club Grassroots Stayers which aims to offer increased prize money to horses that generally race just below Group or Listed level. To qualify for the finals, horses must have participated in at least one qualifying race throughout the season, with a total of 16 qualifying races hosted at Jockey Club Racecourses during each series.

The Three year old novice stakes at 2.45pm has been known to produce some quality winners such as the Charlie Appleby trained Secret State who went on to win the King George at Royal Ascot for his next start.

As well as the excellent racing this afternoon, we invite you to enjoy Winning Plaice and Ann’s Tearoom within this relaxed and welcoming atmosphere For a truly indulgent experience, consider upgrading to Sherwoods Restaurant for an evening of hospitality while overlooking the racecourse. Detailed information is available on our website, provided below.

Today promises to be action-packed for the entire family featuring various entertainment options including a Punters Panel ahead of racing or head down to the Lawn with the kids for face painting, soft play and bouncy castles. Make sure to mark your diaries for our retro-themed 80s Summer Party on Saturday 8 July where you can pull on your neon legwarmers and Hawaiian shirts for a fantastic day of top racing and quality tunes.

Information on our annual passes as well as tickets for all our fixtures are available to purchase, either through the racecourse office or on our website www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/nottingham

I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.
