THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

A warm welcome to Nottingham Racecourse for an exciting afternoon of flat racing.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Racing TV, British EBF, and AJA for their generous support across today’s card. This is the penultimate fixture of our season which will end with the season finale held on Wednesday 2nd November This day has showcased some remarkable two-year-old racing throughout the years, including Golden Horn’s course record photo-finish win in the stallion maiden stakes under William Buick in 2014. Golden Horn subsequently went on to a remarkable career as a three-year-old, landing the Dante, the Derby, the Eclipse, the Irish Champions Stakes, and the Arc.

As we look forward to some superb racing this afternoon, we hope you will make the most of Nottingham’s many bars and food outlets in this historical setting. Take advantage of our wonderful hospitality packages today, or at our Season Finale, by booking a table at our ever-popular Sherwoods Restaurant which boasts the best views of the racecourse and winning line

In addition, we still have some tickets remaining for our fireworks night this weekend on Saturday 29th October with the British Musical Fireworks Champions, Komodo, who will paint the skies in a magnificent choreographed display. Tickets for all our events as well as hospitality and events packages are available on our website www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/nottingham.

With the 2022 racing season drawing to a close, we invite you to come and join us for one of our Christmas parties hosted throughout December. Celebrate the season’s festivities with family, friends, or colleagues in our exclusive setting.

Membership for our 2023 season will be on sale by the end of October, a great Christmas gift idea offering attendance to all our fixtures along with other exceptional perks. Further information on packages is available on our website, or sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when these go on sale

I do hope you have a very enjoyable afternoon with us, and I wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck.

PLAY SMARTER

The bar isn’t set all that high by those with experience, so GALILAEUS is fancied to make a winning debut, perhaps at the expense of stablemate Balance Play, who also appeals as an interesting newcomer despite having already been gelded. Laafi is the clear choice of those who have already run.

HIGH OPINION was narrowly denied on his recent C&D handicap debut and is taken to go one place better now as he has the obvious scope for further improvement after only four career starts. A French listed race was asking a lot of Colombe last time but she’s respected with her sights lowered. So Smart put up a career best at Leicester 2 days ago and will be in the mix if turned out again.
