THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU
Welcome to Nottingham Racecourse. A warm welcome to Nottingham Racecourse for an afternoon of competitive racing, featuring seven races. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Racing TV, British EBF and FC Cartons for their generous support across this afternoon’s card. The second of today’s races is a qualifier for our Jockey Club Grassroots Nursery Final, which takes place back here on 28th September. The Series is aimed at offering enhanced prize money to horses who tend to do their racing at a notch or two below Group or Listed level. As well as the excellent racing this afternoon, we hope you will make the most of Nottingham’s many bars, food outlets and restaurants in this relaxed and friendly setting. Looking ahead to later this summer, we are looking forward to Colwick Cup Day, featuring the race named after the racecourse’s current site Colwick Park. Tickets are on sale now via our website: www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/nottingham or ask in the office this afternoon. I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck. ABSOLUTE QUEEN didn’t progress from first run to second, but her debut form still gives her leading claims in a race such as this, and she’s the most likely winner. Little Hug is the obvious danger after an encouraging debut at Newmarket, while Chuck Taylor is another one in range of the benchmark with the promise of more to come.

Health And Safety Notice The Racecourse would be grateful if you would observe all Health & Safety requirements whilst you are at Nottingham Racecourse. The emergency exits from the bars onto the grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would request that you do not stop whilst in this area. We would also request that only those that are disabled use the disabled viewing ramp and that parents keep a close eye on all children and prevent them from climbing the running rails and getting on to the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the first aid room is located on the ground floor of the Centenary Stand.
Behaviour And Dress Code The Dress Code in the Premier Enclosure is smart casual - no untidy denim, t-shirts, trainers, or fancy dress, only tailored shorts are acceptable. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to the Premier Enclosure to patrons failing to comply with the above request.
Racehorse & Jockey Welfare All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials are here to ensure that the racecourse delivers those standards. In addition Nottingham Racecourse employs two veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey.
Dogs No dogs are permitted on the Racecourse with the exception of assistance dogs. Food & Drink Alcohol, glass bottles and glass/china receptacles must not be brought onto the Racecourse. Picnics are permitted on the Grandstand trackside lawn only. Prize Money The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides for the inclusion of £811,269 at this Racecourse in 2022.
If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
Media Coverage All Attendees are reminded that many races and fixtures are given coverage on television, radio, online and in print, as well as by the racecourse in its own marketing literature. By entering the racecourse, attendees are accepting that they may appear in such broadcast and print coverage or in literature produced by the racecourse itself. Accordingly, attendees shall have no right to object to their inclusion in any such material. Each attendee will give any additional consents or waivers required for the unrestricted lawful use of any coverage (if any) without request for payment or imposing any other conditions.
No Drinking Areas Bottles & Glasses Customers are asked to respect the restrictions placed on drinking areas. Customers are asked not to take bottles or glasses out of the buildings or marked drinking areas. Alcohol is permitted outside in plastic receptacles only. Notices Weights, Pedigrees, Trainers’ Names, Descriptions, Performances and Values of races have been added for the convenience of the Public, but are subject to alteration. All horses must parade in the Parade Ring except by permission of the Stewards, but in all cases must pass through the Ring on the way to the Post. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone without assigning a reason for so doing.
