We were treated to another seven exciting races Monday 5th

The eight-year-old went second just after three out before taking the lead and going clear two out. The rest of the field were certainly playing catch-up but couldn’t match the levels of Percy’s Word. Yaazaain was the closest in second with Foillmore, Blazer’s Mill, Pointed And Sharp and Papas Boy completing the field. Merchant House was pulled up before two out.

Short-priced favourite Gaulois justified his starting price with an impressive 12 length vicotry over Heronord. The Paul Nichollstrained six-year-old dwelt at the start but soon recovered and was never in any danger. He soon went clear when three out to record a comfortabe victory Heronord, Coconut Twist, Testflight and Carriglux completed the five-runner field.

The Alexandra Dunn-trained Minella Voucher got proceedings underway with a three-quarter length victory over Joey Steel. The 11-year-old raced in last before being pushed along before the 14th. The gelding went second when approaching the last and stayed on well to the lead. Joey Steel and Flying Verse came in second and third respectively.

LAST MEETING REVIEW |SATURDAY 30TH AUGUST 2022

The seven-year-old jinked left causing the saddle to slip, resulting in unseating the rider.

It was another comfortable success in the following race, with Mr Yeats completing a nine length victory over Umbrigado. The Milton Harris-trained gelding went third after three out and despite not getting a clear run, he switched right and was pushed along to challenge. He soon went clear when approaching the last and kept on strongly to secure a fine win. Market favourite Valentino unseated rider Harry Kimber when two out.

Triple Nickle was well supported in the market in the fifth race of the day but the six-year-old was unable to justify that, finish third in a

Bobby Socks started at 8-15 and fully justified the support, beating Wot You Wearing by a length-and-a-quarter That was the five-year old’s first win at the third time of asking and he made all and was always doing enough to fend off the danger. Wot You Wearing Kept on well but just couldn’t find enough to cut the deficit to the winner Bryn Black Sam was a well beaten third, finishing 12 lengths off second.

Another fine day of racing was then completed with Bobby Socks winning the last for jockey Aidan Coleman and trainer Olly Murphy

She soon went clear when approaching the last and was never in any danger of relinquishing her lead. Galah was the closest challenger but was unable to match the performance of the winner Ince completed the pack, finishing 19 lengths off Belle Na Bann. That completed back-to-back successes for Belle Na Bann who won a month prior to that at Fontwell.

HOW TO READ YOUR RACECARD

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h. over to a

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions.
