THURSDAY 26 JUNE 2025

WELCOME TO

Welcome back to our third meeting of the season here at the beautiful July Course, for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of worldclass racing and entertainment - made all the more enjoyable by today’s glorious weather.

Today’s card features a number of very interesting fillies races, including another exciting race in the Jockey Club Grassroots Series

If today marks your first visit to the July Course, I encourage you to take a moment to explore its stunning surroundings While the racing is, of course, the main event, our dedicated grounds team works year-round to maintain the beauty of the courseincluding over 20,000 vibrant flowers on display throughout the site.

One of my personal favourite areas remains the pre-parade ring It offers a peaceful and contemplative space - perfect for an early look at the equine stars of the day as they prepare for action If you’ve not yet visited it, it’s well worth your time

Looking ahead, the highlight of our summer calendar - the Debenhams July Festival -takes place from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th July This three-day celebration of top-tier racing and timeless fashion is not to be missed. Tickets are selling quickly, so do book early, and consider one of our exceptional hospitality packages to make your day even more special.

Summer at the July Course is about more than just racing. Our Newmarket Nights and Summer Saturday Live concert series continue to draw incredible musical talent to our stage Tomorrow, Richard Ashcroft of the Verve takes to the stage, this one’s not to be missed.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the sponsors of today’s races - your support is invaluable in helping us deliver such memorable days. Hallgarten and Lay & Wheeler are both Group partners of the Jockey Club, do try some of their wines if you get the chance We also have The Racehorse Syndicate Association, who are on course promoting the syndication ownership of racehorses. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai, for their continued sponsorship of our Owners’ and Trainers’ facility. Best of luck to all owners, trainers and jockeys taking part this afternoon. We hope you all enjoy a truly special day with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for more unforgettable experiences at the July Course.

Warmest regards,

The Jockey Club would like to thank our Group Partners for their support in 2025

As a leading distributor of horse feed, bedding and supplements in the greater GCC area, I am once again immensely proud to support the Jockey Club at Newmarket Racecourses for the 2025 season. Newmarket is credited as being where thoroughbred racing first started which is why so many from every corner of the world Mile Rowley The appreciate and assemble and The July Course.

As ever, the enthusiasm of Sophie Able and her team at Newmarket translates into a top class service for Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Stable Staff and for that we are deeply grateful.

I would like to wish all those visiting Newmarket throughout the 2025 season, the very best of luck.

Have a wonderful day at the races today.

A first taste of success beckons for ANOTHER ABBOT, who arrives here on the back of a couple of close-calls and this step up to 6f will be right up his street. Spring Bloom looks booked for another bold show at this course and he is second choice, while Priapos, who like Spring Bloom found 5f too sharp last time, is also shortlisted. Dashing Dick and Rocking Ends are others to consider in a competitive handicap

BRECCIA: Following its run on 14/6/2025 it was reported that the horse was slowly away

James Owen invariably finds a way to improve horses from other yards and CHILLHI looks worth another chance in a change of headgear (stable have excellent record with horses in a first-time visor). 2022 and 2023 winner Dereham has fallen in the weights and made a positive reappearance when runner-up at Yarmouth last month, he’s feared most ahead of Dalton Park who could be open to improvement now stepping up in distance.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO RACECOURSE

In particular, any instance of unruly behaviour, such as drunkenness, abusive conduct, singing or shouting, shall entitle the Racecourse Executive toexpel the offending racegoer without prior notice. Racegoers must abide by any regulations including the observance of designated non-drinking areas

At Newmarket Racecourses we believe racing should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. And one thing is certainly true, the more relaxed and comfortable we feel, the more likely we are to have a great time. So that’s why we’ve created one very simple piece of guidance, to come “dressed to feel your best”.

We’re all unique, and no more so than in our sense of style and comfort. For some, wearing a nice sweatshirt, pair of jeans and clean trainers is what makes them feel confident and at-ease. For others, they might prefer to turn heads with a sharp suit or glamorous dress and high heels, particularly for one of our big race meetings But whatever your tastes, the most important thing when choosing your outfit is, of course, comfort and confidence. So wear what feels right for you and will keep you feeling your best from start to finish, whatever the weather. Here’s some other useful tips and advice for making sure your time with us is as memorable as possible.

Fancy dress can often add colour and fun to our racedays, but please avoid inappropriate or offensive outfits, as anything deemed vulgar or derogatory may be refused entry.

We love other sports as much as anyone, but showing allegiance to a favourite club can sometimes appear antagonistic So, to keep things simple, please refrain from wearing team kits when attending one of our racedays.

Only individuals in possession of a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets in the course of their business. Any individuals found contravening these conditions will be evicted. Members of the public may not use two-way radios, scanning receivers etc, for any purpose at the racecourse.

EMERGENCY NOTICE

In an event of an emergency please be guided by our security stewards and by messages you will see and hear around the racecourse We would advise that you keep your personal belongings with you at all times. In the event of an evacuation please do as requested by Newmarket Racecourses Management and security staff They will direct you to a safe place. Do not attempt to regain access to buildings

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Newmarket Racecourses employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
