It is my great pleasure to welcome you back to the beautiful July Course for what promises to be another unforgettable summer of world-class racing and entertainment.
Following a thrilling Spring season on the Rowley Mile, we are delighted to once again open the gates of this iconic venue. As someone deeply passionate about Newmarket - the global home of horseracing - it’s a privilege to invite you to one of the sport’s most picturesque and historic settings We have some exciting racing lined up this weekend, including two Jockey Club Grassroots Series races. The Jockey Club Grassroots Series aims to offer enhanced prize money for horses running below the top level of racing and culminates on the 2nd of October at Nottingham Racecourse
If this is your first visit to the July Course, I encourage you to take the time to explore the grounds. While the horses are naturally the main attraction, countless hours go into maintaining the beauty and vibrancy of this racecourse, with over 20,000 flowers on site, carefully tended to by our exceptional grounds team.
One of my personal favourite spots on course is the pre-parade ring. It offers a wonderfully calm and reflective atmosphere - an ideal place to get an early glimpse of the stars of the day before they head to the track It’s a must-see.
The centrepiece of our summer is undoubtedly the Debenhams July Festival, taking place this year from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th of July This three-day celebration of top-tier racing and timeless style is not to be missed. Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to secure yours soon - and why not make your visit even more memorable with one of our outstanding hospitality experiences?
Summer at the July Course is about more than just racing Our Newmarket Nights and Summer Saturday Live concert series continue to bring some of the biggest names in music to our stage This season, we’re thrilled to welcome artists such as Richard Ashcroft, Sir Tom Jones, Faithless, and the iconic Sugababes, to name just a few.
My sincere thanks go to the sponsors of today’s races, especially to Zyn, who are our main sponsors of Friday’s card We would not be able to bring you such fantastic race days without thehelpofallofoursponsors.Ihopethey—andallourvisitors—enjoyatrulyspecialafternoon here with us.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai, for their sponsorship of out Owners’ and Trainers’ facility.
Best of luck to all owners, trainers and jockeys competing today. We look forward to welcoming you back throughout the season for more incredible racing, entertainment, and memories at the July Course

The Jockey Club would like to thank our Group Partners for their support in 2025
As a leading distributor of horse feed, bedding and supplements in the greater GCC area, I am once again immensely proud to support the Jockey Club at Newmarket Racecourses for the 2025 season. Newmarket is credited as being where thoroughbred racing first started which is why so many from every corner of the world Mile Rowley The appreciate and assemble and The July Course.
As ever, the enthusiasm of Sophie Able and her team at Newmarket translates into a top class service for Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Stable Staff and for that we are deeply grateful.
I would like to wish all those visiting Newmarket throughout the 2025 season, the very best of luck.
Have a wonderful day at the races today.

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:
2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse.
3. Timeform view and TFR rating
Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race
Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.
6. Owner’s colours worn by the Jockey

8. Horse’s name
9. Days since the horse last run

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

Probable S.P’s: 4-1 Cavolo Nero (GB), 9-2 King Casper (IRE), 11-2 Tilted Kilt (FR), 8-1 Mythical Guest (IRE), 17-2 Meblesh (IRE), 10-1 Mr Swivell (GB), 11-1 Sterling Knight (GB), 14-1 Where’s Freddy (IRE), 28-1 Aalto (FR), 40-1 Longlai (FR)
CAVOLO NERO has improved with each of his four starts to date and, with no reason to believe that he won’t continue to progress, James Ferguson’s charge is taken to follow-up last month’s Goodwood success. Next on the list is King Casper, who fared best ofthose ridden up with the pace when fourth in theSilverBowlatHaydockandistakentoreverseplacingswiththerunner-upthere,TiltedKilt.Thelatter will, however, be second choice if King Casper goes to post at Royal Ascot on Thursday.

The vote goes to NOBLE HORIZON, who improved for the step up to this trip when finding just one too good at Chepstow and the 6lb he receives from I Am I Said could prove decisive. This is by no means a two-horse race, though, given the promise Native Spirit showed on his introduction.

Stewards Note:
CAIRDEAS: Following its run on 31/5/2025 it was reported that the trainer could not explain the poor run.

DAPPER GUEST: Following its run on 16/5/2025 it was reported that the horse missed the break.
Probable S.P’s: 10-3 Mayday Malone (GB), 11-2 Zarathos (IRE), 6-1 Cairdeas (GB), 15-2 Soldiers Star (IRE), 11-1 Hyperchromatic (IRE), 12-1 Zabeel Road (IRE), Dapper Guest (IRE), 14-1 Toy Soldier (IRE), 16-1 Megalithic (IRE), 40-1 Jewel of London (GB)
The jump in grade proved too much for ZARATHOS recently at Musselburgh where he contested a fairly valuable Class 2 handicap The step up to 9f probably didn’t help either and, back down in class and trip here, he is taken to deservedly open his account. Cairdeas was nearer last then first at York last time, but is well worth another chance and he is feared most, given concerns regarding the suitability of this ground for the otherwise appealing Mayday Malone.

At Newmarket Racecourses we believe racing should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. And one thing is certainly true, the more relaxed and comfortable we feel, the more likely we are to have a great time. So that’s why we’ve created one very simple piece of guidance, to come “dressed to feel your best”.
We’re all unique, and no more so than in our sense of style and comfort. For some, wearing a nice sweatshirt, pair of jeans and clean trainers is what makes them feel confident and at-ease. For others, they might prefer to turn heads with a sharp suit or glamorous dress and high heels, particularly for one of our big race meetings But whatever your tastes, the most important thing when choosing your outfit is, of course, comfort and confidence. So wear what feels right for you and will keep you feeling your best from start to finish, whatever the weather. Here’s some other useful tips and advice for making sure your time with us is as memorable as possible.
Fancy dress can often add colour and fun to our racedays, but please avoid inappropriate or offensive outfits, as anything deemed vulgar or derogatory may be refused entry.
We love other sports as much as anyone, but showing allegiance to a favourite club can sometimes appear antagonistic So, to keep things simple, please refrain from wearing team kits when attending one of our racedays.
Only individuals in possession of a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets in the course of their business. Any individuals found contravening these conditions will be evicted. Members of the public may not use two-way radios, scanning receivers etc, for any purpose at the racecourse.
In an event of an emergency please be guided by our security stewards and by messages you will see and hear around the racecourse We would advise that you keep your personal belongings with you at all times. In the event of an evacuation please do as requested by Newmarket Racecourses Management and security staff They will direct you to a safe place. Do not attempt to regain access to buildings
We are always pleased to hear from our customers and are grateful for any feedback you can provide about your visit today. There are short contact forms available online at thejockeyclub.co.uk/ newmarket and we value your comments

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Newmarket Racecourses employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
